| Sam Norton, Jr. along with his brother, Mead Norton started the Norton Motor Company in 1919. Norton dealership was the first one in Shawnee. C. L. Gregg joined the partnership in 1920 and it became the Norton-Gregg Motor Company. This lasted about a year. Then later Norton Motor Campany, Norton Motors Incorporated, then Norton Chevrolet Cadillac Conpany, finally it was known as McMillin Chevrolet Cadillac Incorporated. McMillin Chevrolet built a new showroom on Kickapoo Spur. That building was later badly damaged by fire --it is now the Shawnee School bus barn. |
