In 1906, Horace Mann was built on the corner of Eleventh and Draper.
It waas built exactly like
Jefferson, Washington and Franklin. This original building was
replaced by a more modern
structure in 1928. An auditorium waas added in 1940 and more
classrooms were added in 1990.
In the 1980s when Shawnee went to a Grade Center concept, Horace Mann
served as the Fourth Grade center.
