"Ghost" town of
Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma

Location: 6 miles west of Maud
Existed: July 14, 1892 until May 3, 1893
Name coined from the first postmaster, Joseph C. Willfelt’s, last name

This is another “one store” town that started in the first year after the opening “run” for homesteads in the county. Early day families living near where the town was founded included:

L. K. Truscott
