Daniel Fisher was born January 1, 1824, in Wayne County, Indiana to Daniel Fisher and Damarius Starbuck Fisher. He married Jane Cox, the daughter of Solomon Cox and Anna, in Huntington County, Indiana on May 23, 1856 . Out of this union was born two sons and two daughters—Ulyses Grant Fisher, O.F. Fisher, Viola Alice Fisher, and Melvina Belle Fisher, all born in Indiana.
Daniel Fisher along with one daughter, Melvina Belle Fisher Miller, and her husband Austine M. Miller, and the two sons came to South McAlester, Indian Territory, in the late 1890’s.
The 1900 U.S. Census indicates Austine M. Miller and Melvina Belle Fisher Miller, along with one daughter, lived on A Street next door to Daniel Fisher and Ulyses Grant Fisher. The census also indicates Austine Miller made a living as day laborer. Daniel Fisher made a living as gardening laborer, and Ulyses Grant Fisher made a living as a house carpenter.
The 1905 City Directory indicates Austine Miller and his family lived at 103 West Cherokee Avenue, and Ulyses Grant Fisher, O.F. Fisher and his wife, Dessie Abbott Fisher, lived at 110 West Chickasaw Avenue. The directory also indicates O.F. Fisher was self-employed as a carpenter. Ulyses Grant Fisher was working as a machine operator for J.E. Jones Manufacturing Co. He later worked for The T.H. Rogers Lumber Company. Austine M. Miller was also self-employed as a carpenter.
Daniel Fisher died February 14, 1906, and was buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester.
Ulyses Grant Fisher married Nettie Pearl Abbott on July 22, 1906 , in South McAlester, Indian Territory. From this union was born six children—four sons and two daughters . At this time, one son and one daughter are still living in McAlester. The other children are deceased.

died October 21, 1937; O.F. Fisher died May 27, 1936; Nettie Pearl Abbott
Fisher died December 9, 1955; Dessie Abbott Fisher died February 10, 1951.
Ulyses Grant Fisher and Nettie Pearl Abbott Fisher resided at 810 East
Wyandotte at the time of their death; O.F. Fisher and Dessie Abbott Fisher
resided at 201 West Cherokee at the time of O.F. Fisher’s death; Dessie
Abbott Fisher resided at 524 East Washington at the time of her death.
All are buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester .
