I'm searching for any info on ggmother Mary Jane Crabtree Scott (supposedly full-blood Native American)b.1866-d.1916 and husband Thomas Jefferson (Jeff) Scott,b.1858-d.1911 who moved from Pottawatomie County to Montague County Texas in 1910-11, where they are buried. Children (Martha, Tom, Alta, Charley, Henry, Tom, Jess, Reuben) were born in OK. Searching for any birth certificate(s)/marriage certificate(s), or other info source that would show where Mary Jane/Thomas J. were born, any of their siblings, ANY possible info about Mary Jane's and Thomas's parents. Either Thomas OR Mary Jane could be Native American not sure that family stories of being Cherokee are true since I've not found any enrollment data. Due to lack of information, feel parents/siblings of either or both may have lived inside one of the Sovereign Nations and ancestors may have been part of Trail of Tears. Youngest child, Reuben, was born in Norman in 1903, but do not know where other children were born. The family data ends with the tombstones in Illinois Bend Cemetery, Montague County Texas....any little clue will be appreciated ! Caton, b. 1867 TN, are found in Pottawatomie Co. in 1910 with children Arthur b abt 1886, Elizabeth b abt 1888, Stephen b abt 1891, John b abt 1897 and Francis b abt 1903, all TN. Elizabeth is listed as a widow whose last name is Shahan her children were Crawford, Artie, Zelma and Robert. Elizabeth later married Joseph Wood and in 1920 they are in Garvin Co. Cary and Margaret are buried in Bethel Cemetery. Margaret is found on 1920 census with son S. C. Stephen -  and family she died in 1925. SURNAME - SHELLEY Query - Any information on Curtis SHELLEY SHELLY - born 20 Dec 1881 McDonald Co. MO. and married to Nora Belle LITTLE would be appreciated. Nora Belle was born 17 Sept 1886 Clark Co. IN. I believe Curtis arrived about 1900-01. Nora Belle probably arrived earlier with her mother, Ida Belle MORGAN LITTLE and perhaps her father, Louis Samuel LITTLE. Ida Belle later married William RAGAN we think and both may have died in Tecumseh. - . Curtis and Nora Belle were married 23 Nov 1902 in Tecumseh, OK. Their marriage certificate states that Nora Belle was 20 but she was actually only 16. - They had a son, Roy Lee SHELLEY who was born 1904 in Tecumseh, although we do not have a birth certificate. They must have left the county by 1906 because their next son, Francis Guy was born in 1906 in Jones, OK no birth certificate - . They were on their way to California. Name - N.L.
