SURNAME -  YONES Query - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The YONES or YONNES family lived in Pottwatomoie Co. in the early 1900s. James Benjamin and Debby Yonne, both born TN c. 1843, moved from Sugar Valley, GA to the Tecumseh and Shawnee area. Their children included Sledge Thomas and his wife Clara Priscilla (Harmon) Yonnes, Mose Jacob and his wife Frances Avey or Abbie (Chester) Yonnes, James C. and his wife Mary Ann (Wright) Yonnes, Mary B. or Mary Alice Yonnes who m. a McLain, and two younger daughters I know little about: Rachael, and Lizzie who apparently died in GA in 1906. I would love to make connections to descendents of any of these folks. Sledge and Clara had children: Blanche m. Cranford, Jeanette d. 1918, Inez m. Parker, Luther George and James Benjamin Yones. Surname: Yount Query: ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1900-1928 My grandfather{Richard Mason Otis} married Mary Yount in 1900. My dad was born just out of st.louis okla. in 1910. He attended school in st. louis. I am trying to find out where I can find the old st, louis school records. I went to the courthouse in Shawnee and the told me that they had no idea where to look. I am also looking for birth and death records for pott. county during this time. SURNAME - ZELGAR Query - Searching for information on where Henry Zelgar might be buried, was told by family he could be buried in Tribbey, Maud or Seminole. He was born abt July 4, abt 1875.
