BOYNTON ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Query - Need information about the Allen Williams family found in Pottawatomie County in the early 30's and probably the late 20's. I belive the Allen Williams I found buried in the Johnson Cemetery having died in 1936 and with wife Eunice may have had a first marriage producing a duaghter, Irene Ruth Williams, born in 1908 in Sherrill AR. The marriage did not last long and I only know that he was 36 years old and living in Garrison, TX when this daughter was born, though she was born in AR. That information came from a delayed birth certificate for this person and the infornmation was given by the mother. I belive this Allen O. Williams was the son of Non Clark and Elizabeth Jane Sarah Davis Williams and born in LA in 1877. I know that on the OK census of 1930 he is listed as born in TX but on the 1880 LA census he is shown with his family as born in LA. In the 1930 OK census listing for Allen Williams he has two nephews living in the household and these are known sons of his older brother William Daniel Williams who was deceased at that time. Allen's sister Nellie Jane Williams married Eugene A. Frances in Shelby Co., TX in 1894. I do not know how the family got from LA to east Texas. Another of his brothers, James A. Williams also lived in that County in the early 1900s. I understand that there were children by Allen's second marriage but I have no proof of this and if that is true and they have descendants that would like to contact us, we would much appreciate it. Allen's daughter died never knowing anything at all about him and I, a grandaughter-in-law only know this little bit. His first wife was Augustine Mae Connell Archibald, the widow of Alex Archibald living in Jefferson Co., AR in 1905 when he died. I have no idea how the couple met or any of the circustances of the marriage except for the birth of the daughter, Irene. We were told there was Cherokee Indian heritage but have no proof. BURK ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Query - Looking for info on Estella (Stella) Burk Dixon, wife of B.H. Dixon who was last known to be living in Tecumseh, OK in 1942. The obit. of Stella's sister, Irene Burk Barks of Sweet Springs, MO, said that Stella was in Tecumseh and their other sister, Nettie Burk Floyd (wife of John. F. Floyd) was in Sulphur, OK. Would like to find death date/place/obit for Stella Dixon and family. Stella was born Nov 1878 in MO; parents were Elisha and Cynthia Susan Clendenin Burk. The Burks were from Warren Co., OH and moved to MO about 1867.
