MAPLE CEMETERY  is one of the oldest cemeteries in constant use in Sequoyah County. Originally known as the CourtHouse cemtery because the seq dist cherokee nation courthouse was adjacent to the cemetery. The name was retained for several years after the courhouse was moved to the community of Maple. In later years the cemetery took the name of the community. to visit the cemetery from Muldrow take State Highway 64B north from Muldrow 6 miles. turn left on the blacktopped road at the four corners. Follow this road west two and a half miles. at the second road right(north) turn right and follow that road to the cemetery gate. from a mile south of the four cornes on there are signs pointing the way. the way is also marked from the akins area.
