Robert L. Garroutte Funeral Services for Robert Garroutte of Muskogee, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Abiding Life Fellowship Church, 1407 Callahan Street in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Pastor Denver Callahan officiating.

Robert was born November 3, 1935 in Porter, Oklahoma to Edwin and Pearl (Brown) Garroutte and he went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at his home while surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.


Robert was a faithful member of Abiding Life Fellowship and taught bible classes in rest homes for ten years. He was a Lab Foreman for Monsanto Chemical Company in Alvin, Texas. On August 18, 1961, Robert married Nola Gail Bass and they have shared the past 45 years together. In 1986, Robert retired from Monsanto Chemical Company and he and Gail returned to Muskogee where they have made their home for the past 20 years.

Robert loved to fish, golf, go bowling, gardening, watching OU football games and spending time with his family.

On Saturday, Robert entered his Heavenly home and was welcomed by his mother, Pearl (Brown) Daugherty and his father Edwin Garroutte. He will be missed by his wife Nola Gail Garroutte, his brothers; Henry Leon Garroutte and wife Janet from Austin, Texas, Charles Edwin Garroutte and wife Roberta of Nesbit, Mississippi. Sisters Gi Gi Garroutte and Edwina Peterson, both of Amarillo, Texas. Numerous nieces, nephews and his church family.

Funeral services and burial arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Muskogee Cremation & Funeral Service, 1325 North York, Muskogee, Oklahoma. For additional details call 683-1700.
