1774 - Present Ontario Area referred to as Quebec

1791 - Present Algoma District and area lies within Upper Canada(Ontario)due to Constitutional Act

1840 - Present Algoma District and area lies within Canada West due to the Act of Union

1858 - Algoma & Nipissing Districts were created in Northern Ontario

1867 - Present Algoma lies within Ontario due to the British North America Act

1868 - Ontario boundaries moved West

1871 - Thunder Bay District created & boundaries included part of Northwestern Algoma

1888 - Manitoulin Island separated from the Algoma District

1907 - Sudbury District created including parts of Eastern Algoma & Nipissing District

1912 - Temiskaming District created from areas of Algoma & Sudbury Districts
