Toronto: Historical Atlas Publishing Co, 1906, reprint 1972. McLAUGHLIN, RICHARD (d.), was b. Co. Donegal, Ire., where he m. Mary Quigley. They came to Canada in 1837, and he purchased fifty acres of land on the Eramosa road, Guelph Tp, and there settled. Their family were b. on this farm. He later sold out the Guelph Tp. farm and purchased lot 22, concession 5, Eramosa, and lived upon it until his death in 1853. His sons, John and Charles were brought up in Guelph and Eramosa, and have always lived in Wellington Co. In 1873 they rented lot 27, concession 4, Eramosa (106 acres), and in 1879 they purchased this farm and have since owned and worked the same in conjunction.
