Online Historical Information for the Cochrane District

Nationality Resources - This is far from complete but it is a start for those interested in their roots.
Miners Memorial Site - Contains a list of men killed in the mines in the Porcupine Camp since 1910.

Cochrane District Mailing List. Refer to the query board on the miscellaneous page as well. - Rootsweb

Please feel free to browse through the Cochrane District GenWeb pages. The Cochrane district was not designated a district until 1921 when it was made up of the northern/northeastern parts of the Nipissing and Thunder Bay districts. To find information therefore, prior to 1921 you will have to check out these other two districts. Since the Cochrane District is very large it may take some time to gather information from all the towns and cities. Volunteers would be needed to gather information such as the local history of their area, genealogy resources available, cemetary inscriptions etc.

A new list of district obituaries can be found on the Miscellaneous page.

Cochrane District Genealogy SiteYou can post pictures, queries, information you may have that may help others in their search and these posts may help you in yours. Reading messages is no charge, membership is required to post messages, view photo, files etc, links but its free! NEW links and files have been added there!
