Feb.16,p.:Edward Walker - Edward Walker, one of the oldest resident of Shelburne, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 31st, 1933, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Irwin Dean, Main Street, East, after an illness of about three months. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Walker, of Ireland. He was in his 92nd year. He was born on the sixth line, Mulmur, in 1841. Here he resided until 1899, when he moved to five sideroad, first concession, Mulmur, where he lived for eleven years. In 1909 the family moved to Shelburne, where he spent the rest of his life. He was married to Margaret Anderson, also of Mulmur, in 1871, who predeceased him twenty-seven years ago. Mr. Walker had resided in this district about twenty-four years and his kindly life and Christian character will be long remembered by his many friends and acquaintances. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Shelburne. He was a member of L.O.L. No. 60, Stanton, and was buried by L.O.L. No. 1321, Shelburne. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon, at two o'clock to Shelburne, Cemetery. Mr. M. Long, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, took charge of the services at the house and grave. Miss Mary Lamon and Mrs. W.. Loudon sang a duet, "A Few More Years Shall Roll." The pallbearers were six nephews: James Armstrong, Archie Greer, Edward Greer, John Greer, Samuel Greer, James Greer. Those left to mourn his loss are five daughters and three sons; Mrs. Irwin Dean, Shelburne; Mrs. T.H. Watson, Rochester, N .Y.; Mrs. N.S. Jardin, Tugaske, Sask.,; Mrs. Law Ferguson, Port Sydney, Ont.; Mrs. S. Jordan, Burk's Falls; Mr. John Walker, Tugaske, Sask.; Mr. Kiah Walker, Codette, Sask.; Mrs. Cecil Walker, Burk's; also thirty-seven grandchildren. One son, William, died eleven years ago. The friends from a distance were: Mrs. S. Jordan, Oscar Jordan, Mr. Cecil Walker, Burk's Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Burnfield, Midland; Mr. and Mrs. A. Burnfield, Victoria Harbor; Mrs. A. Beamish, Mrs. E. Burge, Mr. A. McCracken, Mrs. J. Prentice, Toronto; Mrs. Robert Burnfield, Milton; Miss M. Burnfield, Orillia; Mr. and Mrs. A. Greer, Alliston; Mrs. J. Kelly, Mrs. S. Pearson, Mrs. R. McMaster, Everett; Mr. Bowervale, Milton; Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Landsbrough, Grand Valley. ---- Free Press and Economist
