A photo that my mother received from her mother-in-law, Florence Walker McCumber, who died in 1959. My grandfather, Thomas McCumber was from the Parham/Wagerville area. I assume that the photos contain McCumber family members who lived in Wagerville and Parham. Submitted by Michael McCumber
This is a photo of Margaret Christina Jarbeau, at left in top photo and in middle in bottom photo(the nee begin in note at bottom photo reffers to daughter Louisa at right in both photos) woman at left in bottom is unknown, but oviouslly a daughter. Families connected to margaret Christina Jarbeau's family by marriage, in Palmerston are Vaudette, Flynn, Laundreville, Arcand, Beauchamp, Rivet, Garand(Jarant), Gibson, and Marshal. Credit for photo is due to Andre William St Amour, who passed it on to me. Submitted by Mike Blais
My gr gr gr grandmother, Margaret Christina Jarbeau. Margaret Christina was born in Palmerston, Frontenac County June 20, 1872. She was baptised(as well as most of her siblings, and related family) at St John Baptist Parish in Perth, October 12, 1872. She was the daughter of Fabian Gerbeault dit Bellegarde and Emma Bohan(or Behan) Laundreville. Godparents were Pascal Harriet Jarbeau(possiblly Harriet Arcand Jarbeau)of Frontenac County. On September 27, 1891 she married Napoleon Begin(David & Philomene Gamache, L'Islet) at St Killian's parish in Palmerston. Attendants were Dennis Mulroney & Elisabeth Arcand. According the the St John Baptist records in perth, annotations made, the Jarbeau lived in Palmerston at the very least from the years 1864- to well after the turn of the century. Not sure if any still exist there, today. In the late 19th century most of the family moved west to Saskatchewan, & North Dakota, or to Northern Ontario. In 1893, I believe Margaret Christina Jarbeau and Husband Napoleon Begin migrated to River Valley, Northern Ontario. Other Jarbeau of Frontenac preceded them in 1888 to the area. Margaret Christina died somewhere in Toronto area apparentlly in 1940's but not concrete info has been found on that, yet. Credit for photo is due to Andre William St Amour, who passed it on to me.
