War of 1812 Site with articles relative to the War of 1812. A young Glengarrian, John Macdonell of Greenfield, is buried in the tomb with Brock, due to his historic attempt to rally the Canadian troops after Brock fell mortally wounded. He then fell himself.

  • Adventures of a Paper Sleuth, Hugh P. MacMillan Exciting tale of the life of a Glengarry County Historian, Ontario Archives Archivist, and odd-jobber who salavaged much of the history of early Ontario, especially Glengarry.
  • How the Scots Invented Canada by Ken McGoogan, recently released does not specifically index Glengarry County however a few Glengarry related characters such as Willim McGillivray, Simon Fraser, John Strachan, etc are referenced. You may be surprised at the Canadians named with Scottish roots - Pierre Elliott Trudeau, John Diefenbaker among others. I personally found an interesting read.
