MEAFORD EXPRESS (1959) - There passed away at his home, Nelson St. on Tuesday, February 17, Christopher (Chris) L. Bowes. Though in poor health for some time, Mr. Bowes was able to be around and his sudden passing was expected.
   The only son of the late James E. Bowes and Minnie Bracken, he had resided in Meaford and district his entire life. He worked at Clyde Aircraft, Collingwood, during the war. He was known as a buyer and seller of cattle and a keen cattle judge. He was keenly interested in good horses and for a number of years had raised Shetland ponies.
   He was married to the former Lillian Clugston who survives. Also surviving is a sister Blanche, Mrs. Frank Marks, of Angwin, California. His father predeceased him just four months ago.
   Rev. Gordon Lapp conducted funeral services in the Gardiner Funeral Chapel on Thursday afternoon. Pallbearers were Wm. Rogers, Chas. Benedict, Elwood Ferguson, George (Peter) Thompson of Meaford and ......
