IN 68th YEAR
MEAFORD EXPRESS (1921) - The death occurred Monday of Mark C. Boyes, well-known Meaford businessman. Mr. Boyes had not been well for some time but death came unexpectedly. He was 67 years and .... months old and had lived in Meaford all his life. He was engaged in the harness and leather goods business. Mr. Boyes is survived by his wife Ida and a daughter. Mrs. Veri...... Robinson, who recently went to Boston to train for a nurse. The funeral took place this Thursday afternoon.
   The late Mr. Boyes was a son of the late David Boyes and was born on the Atlantic on the "Coloden" after which boat was named, where his parents were coming from England to Canada 67 years ago. The family settled on the seventh line, St. Vincent, in which Township he was married in 1893 to Miss Ida T. Lowe. After carrying on farming operations for some eighteen years after his marriage, the family moved to Meaford in 1911, where Mr. Boyes entered the coal and wood business and later the harness business, which he carried on until his death. Deceased was a member of Trinity United Church and a member of the Church Board for some seven or eight years. He also was identified with the I.O.O.F. And C.O.F. Acting as financial secretary for the latter Society for some years.
   Besides his widow and daughter deceased is survived by two sisters Mrs. W.C. Hill, Toronto, and Miss Bessie Boyes, of Buffalo.
