MEAFORD EXPRESS (1943) - The death occurred in Markdale hospital on Nov. 17th of Foster Clarke in his 66th year. He had been admitted to the hospital on Nov. 2nd for treatment and an operation, but died from a sudden heart attack.
   The late Foster Clarke was born in Euphrasia, the second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Clarke. He farmed at lot 25, Con.9, later moving to lot 22, Con. 11, Euphrasia, in 1909. He was united in marriage in June 1904 to Clementine Patton, who survives, with two sons, Maurice of the Blantyre district and Irwin on the home farm at Goring. There are three grandchildren and one brother, Sylvester Clarke of McIntyre.
   The funeral, which was largely attended, was held from the home of his son Irwin, to Markdale cemetery. Rev. Edward Baker of Meaford, a friend of the family, conducted the services at the house and grave, assisted by Rev. Mr. W. Warren, Temple Hill.
   The beautiful floral offerings were carried by seven nieces and a cousin, Mrs. Hanna, Mr. McKee, Mrs. Royal, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Spencer, Mrs. Wetherall, Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Shepherdson. The pall bearers were Herb Parker, Harold Parker, Jas. McCrabb, John Lush, Archie Wood and Otto Foy. The funeral arrangements were conducted by the Oliver Funeral Home. Relatives attended the funeral from Toronto, Richmond Hill, Thornton, Stayner, Collingwood, McIntyre and Meaford.
