MEAFORD EXPRESS (1922) - The death of Richard Hawkins, in Hamilton on Wednesday evening last, removes another old Meaford resident at the age of 73 years. Deceased had been ill for some 18 months and his death resulted from septic anemia.
   Born in Oxfordshire, Eng., he came to Meaford when a young man and was married here to Miss Cornelia Ronald, 48 years ago. The family moved to Hamilton 17 years ago, where two of his sons at present carry on a plumbing business.
   Besides a widow, deceased leaves a family of five, three sons and two daughters as follows: Thomas, Clinton; George, Jack and Miss Muriel, Hamilton; and Miss Frances, a missionary in Japan.
   The remains were brought to Meaford on Friday and the funeral was held from Christ Church to Lakeview Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Hoath conducted a service at the Church and officiated at the grave. His three sons accompanied the remains to Meaford and were present at the funeral.
