Researching : the Bailey line of Bentinck Township (Irish, original Isaac Bailey and Sarah Halliday), on behalf of Charles Bailey.
The photo features two WW1 soldiers from Grey County, and a third who is unknown.

Standing left side is Wesley Gordon Bailey of Bentinck Twp, Hanover.

Standing right side is his cousin John Wesley Baker also of Bentinck Twp, Allen Park.

The seated soldier is unknown and presumed to be another cousin, possibly from Manitoulin.

Wesley Bailey is the grandson of Joseph Bailey of Bentinck Twp, who is brother to the original Baileys of Manitoulin (William, John, James, Colin, and Sarah (Bailey) Campbell).

Wesley Bailey fought at Vimy Ridge, Hill 60 and Passchendaele, with 147th Grey Batallion, was wounded twice, repatriated and lived out his life in Hanover and Stratford.

The photo was taken 18 January 1917 in Shoreborn by the Sea, Sussex, England.

One possibility is that the seated soldier is John or Hugh Bailey, son of Colin Bailey.

Can you help?
