I'm looking for the connection between the LEITH surname and Edna JACQUES, a
Canadian Poet, who was born in Collingwood 1890. I think her mother's name was
Agnes LEITH but can't prove it. Just found that Jane SANDERSON md. John LEITH
1860 Halton Co.. They had a large family 1881, living in Arthur Tp., Wellington
Co. Jane and John are listed in OCFA as buried in Peel Tp., Wellington Co -
Greenfield Cemetery. Jane was a "missing" daughter of my 2nd great grandparents
John Sandison/Sanderson and Elizabeth Sutherland. Apparently some of the family
maintained contact, just not my particular branch. Thanks for any assistance or
suggestions.

050 EAGLE or ANNISON
I understand that my great-great grandfather was named "Elijah
Eagle" and was born in 1855 in Owen Sound, Ontario. He died in 1949,
and I do not know the place of his death, but presume it may have been in
the Portage la Prairie, Manitoba region as this is where his daughter,
Mildred, was born.
Apparently he had married a "Sarah Annison" who died in 1913.
I know nothing more of her.
I have dug and dug, but can only find an Elijah Eagle in the Wellington
records - one who was born in 1850. I do not know if our family has
perhaps mis-recorded a few facts but would really like to find out where
this man was from to begin with.

055 CORLETT
I need help tracing Corlett history in Grey County because I have
very little information and I want to find my roots. My great-great
grandfather was JOHN CORLETT, born 1824 in Dumfriesshire Scotland. He
emigrated to County of Grey at some point and there he married his wife,
ELENOR (ELANOR?) CORLETT, and they had 12 children. My great
grandfather, their 3rd child, was THOMAS ALEXANDER CORLETT, born August
7, 1863, and graduated from Detroit College of Medicine in 1892. He
married Mary Stimpson in 1897, and had one child, DONALD A. CORLETT, SR.,
whose eldest son, Donald, is my dad.
I am hoping that some of this information rings a bell to a descendent of
one of those other 11 children so that we can build a virtual family tree
together.

Searching for the family of THOMAS TAYLOR of Artemesia, Grey East.
Thomas was 46 yrs old at the time of the 1881 Census. His wife's
name was MARIA (age 40) and children were William H.(age 19); Martha J.
(age 17) ; Caroline E. (Age 15) ; Alexander (Age 13); Rachel A. (Age 11);
Thomas J. (Age 9)and my grandfather (I believe) George Wesley TAYLOR (Age
7). District # 155 - Sub-District A; Division 2.
I "suspect" that family members were often called by their
second names or nick names - for example, my grandfather used the name
Wesley and another of his sisters used the name Carrie.

I know that his wife's first name was Mary and that she died between
the 1871 and 1881 census but I have not been able to find her date of
death or her place of interment. I also have not been able to determine
where James is buried. (His sons Hugh and James are in Trinity Anglican

married (in Ireland), the county in Ireland from which they
came,Mary's date of death and their final resting place.

in England but reappears in 1890 aged 50 to marry my Gt Grandmother. Is
it the same man, did he leave or lose a family in Canada or is it just a
coincidence in names and birth dates? Any information on this family
