050 EAGLE or ANNISON
I understand that my great-great grandfather was named "Elijah Eagle" and was born in 1855 in Owen Sound, Ontario. He died in 1949, and I do not know the place of his death, but presume it may have been in the Portage la Prairie, Manitoba region as this is where his daughter, Mildred, was born. Apparently he had married a "Sarah Annison" who died in 1913. I know nothing more of her. I have dug and dug, but can only find an Elijah Eagle in the Wellington records - one who was born in 1850. I do not know if our family has perhaps mis-recorded a few facts but would really like to find out where this man was from to begin with. Can you help me?    Posted on Sun Jan 5 00:36:53 2003

055 CORLETT
I need help tracing Corlett history in Grey County because I have very little information and I want to find my roots. My great-great grandfather was JOHN CORLETT, born 1824 in Dumfriesshire Scotland. He emigrated to County of Grey at some point and there he married his wife, ELENOR (ELANOR?) CORLETT, and they had 12 children. My great grandfather, their 3rd child, was THOMAS ALEXANDER CORLETT, born August 7, 1863, and graduated from Detroit College of Medicine in 1892. He married Mary Stimpson in 1897, and had one child, DONALD A. CORLETT, SR., whose eldest son, Donald, is my dad. I am hoping that some of this information rings a bell to a descendent of one of those other 11 children so that we can build a virtual family tree together. -M-    Posted on Sun Jan 26 10:41:34 2003

102 FARREL CLOW SWANSTON
Susan Farrel b.June 22, 1850 in Ontario, Canada married to James Swanston b. February 28, 1845 in Galashiels, Scotland. They farmed in Egremont Township, Ontario. I believe that Susan's parents were Charles Farrel born c. 1826 in Ireland and Nancy Jane Clow (daughter of Simon Clow) b. 1826 in Ontario. A Charles Farrel farmed in Egremont Township in 1871.The Farrels might have moved to Michigan during the 1870's. I am trying to confirm Susan's parentage and also trace the Farrel ancestory beyond Charles. Note: spelling of Farrel may vary.    Posted on Thu Jul 31 21:02:17 2003

114 SYMONDS
Hi, have sucessfully traced my tree in England. However 1881 Canadian cencus for Euphrasia, Grey East, Ontario shows that a Matthew Symonds, wife Ann and 5 children were living there. All were born in England except the last child, Lydia who at age 5 in 1881 was born in Ontario. I have a Matthew Symonds same age etc who was missing for awhile in England but reappears in 1890 aged 50 to marry my Gt Grandmother. Is it the same man, did he leave or lose a family in Canada or is it just a coincidence in names and birth dates? Any information on this family would be appreciated, especially where he was born in England as this may rule him out. 119 WITHEROW/BEATTY
I am searching for information about WILLIAM WITHEROW who was married to ELEANOR ANN BEATTY in the early 1860's. They had several children, among them William, Margaret, Jane Ann, John, Norman, Alice, Edward and Alan. In 1874 moved to Polk County, Minnesota,. In the 1871 census it states that William was born in Ireland and Eleanor in Ontario. Are there any records that might show when William arrived in Grey County?
