The Haliburton Highlands Genealogy Group

meets the 2nd Wednesday of February, April, June, September & November.

 

Currently these meetings take place in the Minden Legion (RCL Branch 636) located at 12847 Hwy #35 (opposite County Rd 21 where it heads to Haliburton) unless otherwise specified..

 

Coffee and home-made goodies are available, with proceeds going to HHGG.

 

Meetings  are open and free to everyone but we encourage newcomers to participate in the non-business section of the meeting and to become members.

Displays, presentations and more!  GHC descendants will share their stories & photos.  Authors - Sandra Joyce 'The Street Arab'; Gloria Phillips 'A Pilgrim Passing Through'; Ed Janzen 'The British Home Child Anthology 2012'; Gail Corbett ' Barnardo Children in Canada'.  Ivy Sucee of Haselbrae Home Memorial Group and John Sayers of British Isles Family History Society of Ottawa will have their resources on hand to share their tips on researching your Home Child connections.  See the 2010 Year of the BHC Canada Memorial Quilt.  There will be lots to see.
