Frederick LOVE b Scotland d ON, CAN presumably, emigrated to Canada prior to 1870 with unknown family members. In 1870 his wife Janet accompanied by two of their children, namely, Frederick L. LOVE b 1865 Scotland and a dau who later became Mrs. LEE of Toronto, came to Toronto to meet up with her husband Frederick LOVE. The family moved together to Collingwood, Simcoe, ON, CAN where young Fred LOVE grew up. Fred LOVE met and md 6 Apr 1886 Emma VAIL of Meaford. They lived near or in Owen Sound until ~1894 when they moved to Goderich, Huron, ON,CAN. Fred LOVE d 15 Oct 1903 by accident at the Goderich Elevator. He left behind his wife and four children identities unknown. He was well known in both Goderich and Collingwood. He held membership in "Woodsmen of the World", the Owen Sound branch of the "International Order of Foresters" and the "Sons of Scotland" and his survivors received insurance from policies held n these organizations. There is purported to be a picture of Fred LOVE wearing the kilt and playing the bagpipes. We do not know if this pertains to the father or the son. Mr. Fred LOVE, the younger, was survived by four sisters: Mrs. Rachel TERRY, of Fort William; Mrs. WANCIE of Port Arthur; Mrs. LAKE, of Winnipeg and Mrs. LEE of Toronto, and his mother (Janet LOVE) was still living at Fort William. Rachel LOVE was b 3 Jul 1879, Collingwood, Simcoe, ON, CAN. She married first: 17 Apr 1896, W.TERRY at Fort William by Mr. Rowand of the Presbyterian Church. The groom was assisted by Mr. D. McDonald, and the bride by her sister, Miss Mary LOVE, after which they returned to Port Arthur, to reside. Mr. TERRY died bef 1905. Rachel Love TERRY md second: 20 Oct 1905 at Superior, Douglas, WI, Mr. Richard Bell WILSON b 05 December 1871 Sunderland, Durham, England. Mr. WILSON emigrated to Canada when about age 16 (~1887) and worked in t e logging business. He was evidently married prior to his marriage to Rachel Love TERRY and there was a small family. Nothing further is known about that previous marriage. Rachel LOVE and Richard Bell WILSON are the grandparents of William Richard PINKOWSKI. Please help us find out more information about these people. How can we find out about the organizations that Fred LOVE the younger was member in, in order to view memebership records? We want to go to Scotland to trace the LOVE family there, so we need t find out from where they originated. We need to know more about their life in Canada, as we feel that would be very intersting history.
