Apparently lived in Streetsville until 1847 before settling in Seaforth engaging in a dry goods and grocery business. Looking for place of interment and parent names. I have found some cemetary records for several of the Treitz relatives I am researching. John Treitz came to the Crediton area in 1851. Several children and grandchildren were born over the next several years. However, I can find only minimal informati n; a land record, etc. No Treitz or Treiz name is listed in the 1871 census, yet I know they were there from word of mouth information. Hi I have been searching for over six years on my family. I have been able to go as far back as 1790's to Norfolk England. My great Uncle Herbert Augustus Catling has gone astray. His last known where abouts was on Cockburn Island. The 1891 census had him on the Duck Islands. He has since disappeared and I have run up against a wall. the freedom of info act does not really have much in the way of accessing records such as emmigration records. He may have returned to England. I have not been able fi d any birth death or marriage records for him or any military records. He is gone, anyone who can help me out I would be eternally grateful. My gt gt grandparents were David and Mary Leitch Manson from Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland who settled in Hurnong co, nr Egmondville shortly arfter their marriage in Scotland in 1850. I do not know the name of the cemetery where they are buried, but it is in Egmondville? and I visited it in 1984. I have Mary Leitch Manson's family back to the 1600s in Scotland, but have had no luck with David Manson. I see by the1871 census that there is a John Manson b Scotland, age 45 in Stanley twp, and also an Alexander Manson/Mauson b Scotland, age 30 in Tuckersmith. Perhaps brothers to my David Manson. I also have UEL ancestors that came from New York and settled in York/Toronto in the 1790's. I have visited that cemetery also. CanGenWeb is WELL organized and very interesting. Good job....

My grandparents were Josiah (Joe) Butt b.in Kippen 1876 and Ida Mary Dayman b.in Exeter in 1880. Went to Saskatchewan and married in 1905. Joe's parents were Elam Butt Jr. and Margaret McNaughton but weren't married. Ida's parents were Humphrey Dayman b.1 40 in Devon England and Kezia Westcott b.1849 in Usborne Ont. Looking for any other relatives of these people. Have lots of Butt/Dayman info to share but still have gaps to fill.
