Welcome
The Kawartha Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society
(OGS) was formed in 1975. We are a group dedicated to supporting
genealogical research in the counties of the City of Kawartha Lakes,
Haliburton, Northumberland and Peterborough through our library, regular meetings, beginners
courses, and publications. We extend a warm welcome to all those seeking out
their family roots, in our Counties and elsewhere!

| April 25, 2012 - Spring Bus Trip to
the Ontario Archives. Enjoy a day of research, orientation tour and
research assistance. Leaving Coach Canada Peterborough 8 AM. Stopping at
115/35 car park and Oshawa Swiss Chalet 401/Stevenson Rd for additional
pick ups. Returning to Peterborough by 9 PM. Contact

Patricia Smith M.Ed and retired teacher. Topic - "Telling your story" We
all have life stories that interest our family, friends and community.
Patricia provided a beginners workshop on putting into words your
special memories and life experiences. An evening enjoyed by all in
attendance. |

Annual Bus Trip to the Archives of Ontario was a success and some have
already signed up for next year! |

Dunford, Executive Director Emeritus of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Topic - TONI (The Ontario Name Index)
project. How to use it - How to prepare material for it. There are over
85,000 entries currently accessible on the OGS site. |

meeting on "How to transcribe a cemetery". |

at De la fosse Library. There will be a short general meeting followed by
a Beginner Genealogy Class led by Dr Fraser Dunford. |

Sussex, England. Topic: a combination of two of her popular talks - The
Parish Register and the Parish Chest.
