Cemetery Records of Kent County All cemeteries of Kent County have been located and transcribed by Kent County Branch, Ontario Genealogical Society. The Society sells their transcriptions for a small fee. They have put their Cemetery Transcription List online. The price of a given cemetery will depend on how large the cemetery is, but larger cemeteries are broken up so that you don't have to purchase the whole thing. You can also purchase a microfiche containing the entire county's transcriptions; see the above link for more information. [$] Note that there are three Campbell Cemeteries in Howard Township - one on the townline range, one in concession six and one in concession ten. I don't know the difference in them. If you don't know what cemetery you're after, check out the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid, which is a database where you can plug in a name. The OCFA is an index of names found on stones in Ontario cemeteries. Just because a name is on a stone does not mean the individual is buried there, as it may refer to someone being the parents or spouse of the individual buried. You need to contact Kent County Branch OGS for more information. As far as I can see, out of all Kent County's cemeteries, only one is not in OCFA, and that is Broadbent Cemetery in Raleigh Township. Important Note about OCFA: Most of Kent County's cemeteries are found in the version six addendum of OCFA. Right now, version six files can't be searched online; when you search online, you're only searching version five. Go to the files download page and download the file for the particular surname. You can open the file with your word-processing program and use the "find" function.
