Marriage Ceremony: On Wednesday evening last at 8:00 a gathering assembled at the residence of James Allan (Island) to witness the marriage ceremony of his youngest sister Maggie Allan to George Stone, Jr. of Manitoba. The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. Wm. Burns of Knox Church with the usual ceremonies. The position of bridesmaid was held by Miss Ida Mowat who will accompany Mrs. Stone to her new western home, while the groom was assisted through the happy ordeal by Thomas Cairns, Jr. The bride looked, of course, charming and was elegantly attired in a dress of light blue silk with bridal veil and wreath of orange blossoms. After the interesting and pleasant ceremony was concluded, the party was let to “chase the golden bears with flying feet”, which they kept up until 4:00, occupying a short interval after midnight with a sumptuous supper. The bride was the recipient of a very large number of costly and elegant presents from many people with whom she is a special favorite. The happy couple will leave for Manitoba next Monday and will carry with them the best wishes of their numerous friends.
