| The Murray Burial Site, is located on
the farm owned by Willard Dobbie, on lot 11 west, concession 2 of Lanark
Township. Mr. Dobbie states that as far as he knows there are two
burials there. There are no markers nor is the area fenced.
The only thing present is a big old cedar tree, apparently planted at
the time of the deaths.
Apparently Mitchell Murray and a Mr. Murphy are buried here. Mr. Murphy was supposed to have been kicked by a horse in the stomach and died instantly. Also to make matters worse, his barn was burnt the same day. I will return again and take a picture of this site. |
