HUGHSON CEMETERY

Lot 19 Concession 1

Manitowaning

Page updated -- September 13, 2001

What you will find here is a numerical list of the EXACT wording and lettering from each stone in the cemetery. In many instances, mistakes were made in the cutting of the stone. These mistakes were recorded as all information must be recorded AS IS on the stone. In most cases, obvious mistakes were followed by (?). ie: 1867-1823 (?)

All footstones were recorded as stones may not necessarily be up to date. See example below to read as seen on stone.

"In Memory of/MOTHER/EMILY/DIED MAY 3, 1865/AGED 67 YRS./FATHER/JAMES/DIED JULY 14, 1859/AGED 58 YRS./REST IN PEACE/WALKER"

Begin your headstone search by locating the stone number on the alphabetical list below. Then scroll down to locate the headstone reading.

At the end of the headstone list is another list. This is a list of names and dates of death taken from Death Notices which have appeared in the Manitoulin Expositor. Once the headstone information has been obtained this reference will be removed. It is here for your benefit only. The information provided was supplied by the person or funeral home placing the notice and has not been verified with cemetery records or for accuracy.
