COLLINS--In loving memory of a dear brother and uncle, Brent, who left us January 20, 1989:

COLLINS--In loving memory of our dear son Brent, January 20, 1989.
Thoughts wander as daylight fades,
To the land of long ago.
And memory paints the scenes of old,
In the gold of the twilight glow.
We seem to see in soft, dim light,
A face we love the best.
Remember Brent when the sun’s last ray,
Goes down in the far-off west.
Those whom we love go out of sight,
But never out of mind;
They are cherished in the hearts,
Of those they leave behind.
--Precious memories, Mom and Dad.

IN MEMORY--In fond and loving memory of mother and dad, Robert and Nina (Pipher) Eadie, my grandson Brent COLLINS, January 20 1989, Jane Durdle, August 12, 1989, John Eadie, April 23, 1990, William L. Taylor, April 28, 2004.
They are not gone, these loved ones whom we mourn.
We must not think of them as far away.
Into a fuller life have they been born.
Laying aside the vesture of this day
These sweet souls around us watch us still
When troubles come, press closer to our side.
Into our thoughts and into our prayers each day
On wings of love with gentle helping guide
Yet near us still they watch and love and know.
We are the blind ones who no longer see
Be loved forms that softly come and go
Waiting reunion in eternity.
--Forever loved and never forgotten, Doreen Witty.

COLLINS--In loving memory of our dear son Brent (aka Woolley Bear) who was taken suddenly January 20, 1989.
Please don't cry because I'm gone
For I am just "away."
I did not die and never will
I'm with you every day.
It's true that I have left the earth
And live in Spirit here
With a peace and love I can't explain
I'm happy, have no fear.
Who I was, I still am now
Even better than before
Heaven holds such beauty here
With mountains, trees and more.
Please don't cry, just speak of me
The way you used to do.
Make our memories happy ones
That hug and comfort you.
Remember me with happiness
Don't grieve because I'm gone.
In Heaven I am growing still
And my life continues on.
Please don't cry because I share
All you say and do.
In every moment of every day,
My love is with you, too.
Forever loved and missed, Mom, Dad, Pam and Phil and family, Craig and Melissa and family.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 25, 2006

COLLINS--In memory of our son Brent Collins, August 10, 1968 - January 20, 1989.
It is a deep mystery
This matter of life and death.
That the same person
Who brought us a thousand joys
Can one day have us shedding a thousand tears.
So suddenly sometimes
That we grope blindly for words left unspoken
And for the hug we needed to give
To say good bye.
And we wonder
How this thread that holds us all to life
Can be so thin and fragile.
Until one day, we find the courage to accept
That the living aren't meant to understand death,
Only to celebrate life
And to remember that the only real death
Is forgetting.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families who are grieving the loss of their loved one. "Time" has a way of encouraging us to build our lives again and celebrate the precious gift of life.
In loving remembrance.
Mom and Dad, Pam, Phil, Nathan, Carter, Craig, Melissa, Alicia, Mason, Tamara.

COLLINS--In loving memory of George who passed away November 23, 2001.
God saw you were getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So He closed His arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me"
Your golden heart stopped beating,
Your gentle hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
In tears, we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away
Our hearts were almost broken.
You fought so hard to stay.
What you suffered, you told few,
You didn't deserve what you went through.
Tired and helpless, you made no fuss,
And tried so hard to stay with us.
But when we saw you sleeping
So peacefully, free from pain.
We could not wish you back to suffer again.
-- Always loved and remembered by Rona, sons Chris and James, daughter Alison and stepchildren and grandchildren.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 20, 2002

COLLINS- In loving memory of George Collins.
Count the snowflakes in a winter storm
And the stars up in the sky
Count the drops of dew at daybreak
And the birds that fly on high
Count the needles on a pine tree
And the fishes in the sea.
That's how many time you've been thought of
Throughout the year by me.
I miss you Dad!
Alison

COLLINS--In loving memory of a dear husband, George who passed away November 21, 2001.
Look around your garden, Lord,
He won't be hard to find,
He has a face that's full of love,
And a heart that's good and kind,
Tell him that we love him,
And when he turns and smiles,
Put your arm around him Lord,
And hold him for a while.
We talk about him often,
We think about him still,
He hasn't been forgotten, Lord,
And never, ever will.
Sadly missed and loved by Rona and family.

COLLINS--In memory of George Collins, November 23, 2001.
He fought so hard to stay with us
He knew we'd miss him so
But God knew he was hurting
And said, "It's time to go."
He suffered long without complaint
Oh yes, he paid his dues
He never once said "pity me"
Just smiled and saw it through.
His pain has stopped, the hurting done,
How we miss his dear sweet face.
God took his hand and led him home
He's in a better place.
Four years ago he left us
With fond memories ever more
We all know he will be waiting
On the other shore.
Lovingly remembered by wife Rona Collins and Family.

COLLINS--In loving memory of a dear husband, George Collins, who passed away November 23, 2001.
I watched you suffer,
Heard you sigh
And all I could do
Was stand by.
But when the time came,
I suffered too.
You never deserved
What you went through.
God took your hand
We had to part.
He eased your pain
But broke my heart.
Although I smile,
And seem carefree
No one misses you
More than me.
Lovingly remembered by wife Rona and family.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 22, 2006

COLLINS--In loving memory of George William Collins, December 31, 1935 - November 24, 2001.
We do not need a special day
To bring you to our minds.
The days we do not think of you
Are very hard to find.
They say time heals all sorrow
And helps us to forget,
But time has only shown me, Dad,
How much I miss you yet!
Forever in our hearts, Love, Alison, Marco, Maggie and Hank.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 22, 2006

COLLINS--In loving memory of George William Collins, Dec. 31, 1935 - Nov. 23, 2001.
They say there is a reason; they say time will heal,
But neither time nor reason will change the way we feel.
For no one knows the heartache that lies beyond our smiles,
No one knows how many times, we have broken down and cried.
Dad we want to tell you something, so there won't be any doubt,
You're so wonderful to think of, but so hard to be without.
We cannot bring the old days back, when we were all together,
The family chain is broken now, but memories last forever.
Forever in our hearts, love Alison, Marco, Maggie, and Hank.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 21, 2007

A million times I've needed you
A million times I've cried,
If love could have saved you
You never would have died.
Things we feel most deeply
Are the hardest things to say,
My dearest one, I loved you,
In a very special way.
If I could have one lifetime wish
One dream that could come true,
I'd pray to God with all my heart
For yesterday and you.
Lovingly remembered by wife Rona and family.

COLLINS--In loving memory of George William Collins, December 31, 1935 - November 23, 2001 and Winifred Fleishchaner Collins, November 16, 1940 - June 2, 1986.
Just a thought of sweet remembrance
Just a memory sad and true,
Just the love and sweet devotion
Of your daughter who thinks of you.
May the winds of love blow softly
And whisper so you’ll hear,
I will always love and miss you guys
And wish that you were here.
The world may change from year to year
And friends from day to day,
But never will the parents I loved
From memory pass away.
You are not forgotten, Mom and Dad,
Nor ever shall you be,
As long as life and memory last
You will always be with me.
All my love, Alison, Marco, Maggie and Hank.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 19, 2008

CORBIERE--In memory of my Daddy, our Grandpa, Alphonse I. Corbiere, surrounded in love joined the creator on December 15, 2003.
Already it's been a year.
We miss your smile, your hee hee hee, our talks, our rides.
We miss your wisdom and guidance, but we know you are still here beside us, helping us, guiding us when we need it most.
We know you only wanted the best for us, and understand now that you were right, we are worth it.
It hurt to let you go but we knew we had to.
We know you are happy gambling away in the creator's casino, and at peace walking along those bluffs above.
Be happy, we miss you, but we love you even more.
With pride to say that's my Daddy, that was our Grandpa. Loved and always missed by Ndaansenhs Sanda, Grandsons, John, Anthony, Matthew and Chad, and Granddaughter Kyra Bayer.
Manitoulin Expositor, December 15, 2004

CORBIERE--In memory of a special father and grandfather Alphonse I. Corbiere, who joined the spirit world on December 15, 2003.
If we could go back to a year ago today,
There would be so many things Dad that we would say.
Like how much we love you and miss your laughter in the air,
And every time we look at the counter we no longer see you leaning there.
We would tell you how you were our strength we could no longer walk,
And let you know how much we really loved all our little talks.
We would tell you that we really didn't mind that drink or two,
Just as long as you were happy and we could still have you.
But the Creator decided it was time to take you home to be in his care,
And sometimes Dad the pain of missing you is more than we can bare.
Mom keeps the home fires burning and we often gather there,
We laugh and we cry as we share memories of you when we see your empty chair.
The little ones miss grandpa and don't really understand,
That when the creator reached for you, you willingly took his hand.
And although we know you are no longer in any pain,
Life here on earth without you will never be the same.
Dad, even if we can no longer see you, we feel you every day,
For we know that in our hearts you will forever stay.
Dad, if only we could go back a year ago today...
We miss you Dad, Love, Menesa, Wally, Shanna, Curtis, Jeff and Denice

CORBIERE--In loving memory of a dear brother and brother-in-law Barry, who passed away one year ago July 13, 1999.
The blow was great, the shock severe,
We little thought the end was near,

But they little know the sorrow
That lies within our hearts concealed.

In Memoriam
CORBIERE
In loving memory of a dear friend and uncle, Barry.
We remembered you each day,
As we struggled through this year
You’ve touched so many people in a special way,
Each of us hold dear.
What you have created is strong and vibrant,
As long as we are around.
And we know you are there looking over us
To keep the tires from falling down.
So many come through the doors
Sharing fond memories of you
Taking comfort in sharing these thoughts,
Feeling touched to have known you.
As you continue on your journey
You can be rest assured we are here,
To keep up the traditions you have started
In this place you held so dear.
--Sadly missed and always remembered by
Lisa, Lindsay and the staff at BJ’s OK Tire.

CORBIERE
In loving memory of a dear son Barry (B.J.), who left us one year ago, July 13, 1999 at the age of 37.
In a quiet peaceful cemetery
Where the gentle breezes blow
Rests the one we loved so dearly
Whom we lost one year ago
Your resting place we visit
Place flowers there with love and care
But no one knows the heartache
As we turn and leave you there.
Our thoughts are always with you
Your place no one can fill
In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still.
You left us beautiful memories
Your love still our guide
And although we cannot see you
You’re always by our side
Our family chain has broken,
and nothing is the same.
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again
A million times I’ve needed you
A million times I’ve cried
You left so sudden, no time for good-byes
God gave us strength to bear it,
And courage to stand the blow
But the ache in our hearts will always stay
Mom loves you and always will
Miss you each day.
--Mom

CORBIERE--In loving memory of a dear brother Barry, who left us July 13, 1999.
Dear Lord:
Please pass this on to my brother,
Tell him I miss him,
Tell him I think of him everyday and that my tears flow endlessly for him
My heart aches in sadness, as each morning when I awake I know that he has gone.
Tell him I miss his happy ways and his smiling face.
He brought so much joy and laughter into our lives,
and extended his warmth and kindness to others as well.
Tell him that he will be forever in my heart and knowing that someday I will see him again gives me strength to carry on.

CORBIERE--In memory of a special brother, uncle and friend, Barry, who left us so suddenly on July 13, 1999.
A year ago the Creator needed
A special Angel and there
Could be no other
So he called you Barry, our little brother
A special angel to be our guiding light
To show us that cloudy days can be sunny and bright
Still we miss you so and speak of you
in each passing day
seems like we were all together just yesterday
A gentle breeze and we know you’re there
We look around and see a part of you everywhere
Your laughter we hear in the children at play
And in our hearts we now
You will always be with us BJ.
--Sadly missed and loved by brother Wally, Menesa, Jeff and Shanna Lynn.

CORBIERE--In loving memory of a beloved son and brother, Barry, who died so tragic two years ago July 13, 1999.
Two years ago when God called you home
We stood in shock and disbelief
Not knowing whom to turn to
So many memories fill our heads
We don't know where to start
So many special thanks you've done that touched our hearts
Things we took for granted
If only we could turn back time
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know
When a day is sad and lonely
And everything goes wrong
We seem to hear you whisper
"Cheer up" and "Carry on"
Each time we see your picture
You seem to smile and say
"Don't cry, I'm only sleeping,
We'll meet again someday."
--Sadly missed by Mom, brothers and sisters and families.

What a beautiful memory he left behind.

CORBIERE--In loving memory of our dear friend and uncle, Barry, who passed away July 13, 1999.
Fun-loving, hard working,
Willing to take a chance.
We remember you each day
With every passing glance.
Your voice, your laughter,
Still echoes in our homes.
But you left us with memories,
We are all proud to own.
--Always remembered by Lisa, Lindsay and the staff of BJ's and Addison's.

CORBIERE--In loving memory of a dear uncle, Barry, who passed away July 13, 1999.
This month comes back with deep regret
It brings back a day we will never forget.
He went away without saying good-bye
But our memories of him will never die.
No one knows the grief we bear
When the family meets and he's not there.
The tears we shed will wipe away.
But the ache in our hearts will always stay.
He left us so suddenly his thoughts unknown
But left us with memories
We are proud to own.
--Sadly missed and always remembered by Lorraine, Arnold, Rhonda, Robin and Amber.

From here to heaven above.
It keeps you very close to us
Its called the bridge of love.
We all know the heartache
of what your parting cost.
But God in all his glory
has gained what we have lost.
You gave us many things in life
Gifts both great and small
But most of all you gave us love
The greatest gift of all.
-- Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Mom and brothers and sisters.

CORBIERE--In loving memory of a dear brother, Barry, who left us July 13, 1999.
He was the one who shared with us the
laughter the sunshine and gloom.
He was the one who had love to spare
because his heart had room.
He would always share the thoughts or a golden dream
He was the one that cared.
He was the one who knew our joy
When he walked through the door and
said "Hello, I'm here"
He was the one who would say its o.k.
I'll look after it or I'll do it
Though he is gone we will miss him today as yesterday
and each tomorrow yet to come.
Memories we held dear in our hearts.
--Sadly missed by sister Agnes, Steve and families.

In Memory of Barry (BJ) Corbiere
Forever in Our Hearts –
Always remembered by family and friends
It’s been ten years
And we still shed some tears
Your memory lives in our hearts
As it continues to show in many parts
Your love has found true love
One that you would be proud of
Your baby shares your smile
And one continues to walk the mile
Your family continues to care
Just like mama, papa and bear
Your business continues to please
As you did with much ease
We continue to hunt for a reason
Every single season
The mud has once again begun to fly
As the younger family give it a try
The good times come and go
As you would want them to flow
You continue to be a star in the sky
One that looks down on us as we fly by
Written by Bebbie in BJ’s memory

CORBIERE--In loving memory of a dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Irene, who left us one year ago December 7, 2007.
Mom's life is a beautiful memory
Her death is a silent grief,
She sleeps in God's beautiful garden
In sunshine of perfect peace.
We miss her so much
But realize God knew best,
He let us have her for many years
Then gently took her home to rest.
Sadly missed and loved by daughter Agnes, Steve, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Manitoulin Expositor, December 3, 2008

CORBIERE-- In loving memory of our Mom, Mae Corbiere who left this earth to watch over us on July 20th, 2007 after a three year battle with Cancer.
A year has passed but it seems like only yesterday,
That the Lord called you home and you went away
Each day we look for you, even though we know you are not there,
And most days it is more than our hearts can bear.
But every Bingo night we smile a silent smile,
Knowing that your spirit is there, if only for a little while.
We hug our quilts that you made us with such gentle loving care,
And somehow we know that you are always with us there.
We miss you so much Mom, words could never say all we want to say,
Our lives have been so empty since you left us a year ago today.
We know that you are watching and finally without pain,
But if we had just one wish, we would wish you home with us again.
Missed and loved forever, Menesa & Wally, Shanna & Curtis and our little Landon, Jeff & Denice.
Manitoulin Expositor, July 18, 2007

CORBIERE--In memory of my sister Mae Corbiere who passed away July 20, 2006.
Of all the many blessings,
However great or small
To have had you for a sister,
Was the greatest one of all
I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name,
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake, with which I'll never part,
God has you in his keeping; I have you in my heart
The family chain is broken now,
And nothing seems the same
But as God takes us one by one,
The chain will link again.
Lovingly remembered by sister Lillian.
Manitoulin Expositor, July 16, 2008

CORBIERE--In memory of our mom, Mae Corbiere, July 20, 2006.
Mom, we know we had to let you go,
But our hearts still ache, we miss you so
We look across the road, but we know
You are no longer there,
And silent tears fall, sometimes the pain
Is hard to bare
We walk up the hill to the apple tree,
The place of rest where you wanted to be
We sit an talk with you for awhile,
And it helps us remember your love and your Beautiful smile
Though your smile is gone forever,
And your hand we cannot touch
We have our hearts full of memories,
Just know Mom, that we love you very much
We are told that those we love don't really go away,
And somehow our hearts know that this is true
For we feel you walk beside us, guiding us in all we do.
Lovingly remembered and missed always, Menesa, Wally, Jeff, Denice, Shanna, Curtis and our little Landon.
Manitoulin Expositor, July 16, 2008

It's been 3 years since you've been gone,
It doesn't really seem that long.

On the trips we took along the way.
As I travel down the highway on the roads that we once roamed,
I know that you are with me and I never feel alone.
Lovingly remembered by Sis Lillian.

COULAM--To: Allison, in memory of William Arleigh Coulam, Jan. 31, 1949 - Dec. 2, 2004.
Standing Tall
When he stood
He stood tall
When he walked
no stride was small
He could make us laugh
by telling a joke
He always grinned
whenever he spoke
He'd slap his knee
as we listened for more
He'd talk a lot
and sometimes swore
He'd call the kids names
like Turkey, Duck and Chicken
Then he'd chase them around
the living room and kitchen
He liked to hunt
in or out of season
It was like a game
there was no reason
He'd watch the eagles
soaring in the sky
Amazed that they could soar
so graceful and high
He'd use his bow
to spear some fish
Swim closer, you
he'd quietly wish
He loved his dogs
Princess and Bear
He'd even feed them steak
medium rare
Butthead and Cuddles
were his cats' names
They were cute and cuddly
and loved to play games
This man loved life
and was always a good friend
Though he had to leave us
our friendship will never end.
