HOBBS--In loving memory of Bill, February 21, 2006.
He meant so much to us
But nothing we can say
Can tell the sadness in our hearts
As we think of him each day.
He always was true and tender
He lived his life for those he loved
And those he loved, remember.
Lovingly remembered by Brenda, Cindy and Brad, Alton and Kelli, Laura-Lynn and Joey, Caryn and Shayne, Jody and George, Shana and Ray, Shara and Brian and families.
Manitoulin Expositor, February 21, 2007
HOBBS--In memory of William James "Papa", February 21, 2006.
Remember him with a smile today,
He was not one for tears.
Reflect instead on memories
Of all the happy years.
The smiles he brought, the way he joked,
The things he said.
His strength, his courage and the way he lived
Remember them instead.
And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much.
Forever loved and missed by Caryn, Shayne, Taylor and Cassie.
Manitoulin Expositor, February 21, 2007
HOBBS--In loving memory of Bill Hobbs, husband, father and Papa.
You've gone across the river
To a shore of peaceful rest.
Your rocking chair is empty,
As you sang in it, the best.
Your laugh is gone forever
Since you left us that sad day.
Your hand we cannot touch
As you walk with us each day.
You are missed, Papa, in every way
And if we listen closely,
You're whispering to us,
I'm alright, and you're OK.
Love, your family.
Manitoulin Expositor, February 28, 2007
HOBBS--In memory of a dear husband and best friend Bill Hobbs who passed away February 21, 2006.
Down the path of memory
I gently walk today.
For my thoughts are always with you
As life goes on its way.
Always remembered, never forgotten. Brenda
Manitoulin Expositor, February 20, 2008
HOBBS--In loving memory of our Dad and Papa, William (Bill) Hobbs, who went home to his God & Savior two years ago, February 21, 2006.
"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice.
And the God of peace will be with you." Phillippians 4:9.
I miss you Dad! In love, and with thanksgiving, Cindy, Brad, Larissa & Elson, Adam, Elijah & Jeremiah.
Manitoulin Expositor, February 20, 2008
HOBBS--In loving memory of Bill Hobbs.
Not how did he die, but how did he live?
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth
Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say
But how many were sorry when he passed away.
Forever loved and missed by Caryn, Shayne, Taylor and Cassie.
Manitoulin Expositor, February 27, 2008
HOBBS--In loving memory of our dearest Dad and Papa, Bill, February 21, 2006.
A father lies in peaceful sleep,
His earthly cares are over;
And we who are left to mourn him,
Will see him smile no more.
But he is not gone forever,
We shall meet him once again;
In the cloudless land with God above,
Where happiness knows no end.
We need not weep or shed a tear,
For the days are near at hand;
When we again will see him,
In that ever-promised land.
Deeply loved and missed by Cindy, Brad, Adam, Larissa, Elson & Jeremiah
Manitoulin Expositor, February 25, 2009

Every day in some small way

We will never know a greater gift
Than the years we shared with you.

HOWARD-- In loving memory of a dear sister Marlene, who left us January 24, 2001.
"SHORT AN ANGEL IN THE SKY"
On January 24, 2001; No more suffering, suddenly came to an end
for my sister and dearest friend.
It was a shock just not to me; but everyone.
I never missed a morning; noon; or night (all the time you were here
in the hospital)
But as I sat with you that final night; I laid my head beside you,
and held your hand so tight.
I prayed to myself, especially that night
And asked God "Why her?"
"Why did she deserve to suffer like that, (for so long) and then suddenly She was gone.
"AND GOD MUST HAVE REPLIED"
That night was short an angel in the sky
But not just anyone, could of fit the place. It takes
"Courage", "Strength" and a step of faith, someone kind and caring
and someone friendly and full of love. He searched and
searched; But it finally didn't take long,
"FOR HIS ANGEL TO BE FOUND"
He matched my sister and dearest friend Marlene
Rest in Peace my dear sister
Until we meet again.
I miss you so much
With all my love, love Kim.
And I've been keeping that promise
you said to me every night I left, I still hear your words.
"Take care of Mom (Mary); and I am.
I love you and miss you so much: Rest in peace.
All my love. Kim
(Say hi to Dad and Mike for me too.)
As I miss them so much, too.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 23, 2002
(No surname given, I believe it is HOWARD)
In loving memory of a wonderful friend, who left us so suddenly
January 24, 2001.
What would I give to clasp her hand,
Her happy face to see
To hear her voice and see her smile
That meant so much to me.
I dream of you often
And see your smiling face
And know that you are happy
In our Father's Place.
God knows how much we miss you
Never shall her memory fade
Loving thoughts shall ever wander
To the spot you were laid.
We will always love and miss you
And wish you were still here
We know no greater treasures
Then the times we have shared.
We love you, miss you always.
--Christine and Tanya Taylor.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 23, 2002
HOWARD--In dear and loving memory of my daughter, Marlene, who left us one year ago January 24, 2001.
I'm thinking of you today Marlene
But then that's nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday
And all the days before that too,
I watched you suffer day by day,
It caused me so much grief
To see you slowly fade away
I could not give you relief.
Every time I see your picture
You seem to smile and say
"Don't cry Mom. I'm only sleeping.
We'll meet again someday."
Not a day do I forget you,
In my heart you're always here.
For I loved you and I miss you,
As it ends your first year.
--Dearly loved, forever missed, Mom.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 23, 2002
HOWARD--In loving memory of a dear aunt, Marlene, who left us January 24, 2001.
Sad are the hearts that love you,
Silent the tears that fall.
Living our lives without you,
Is the hardest part of all.
You did so many things for us,
Your heart was kind and true.
When we needed someone,
We could always count on you.
The special years will not return,
When we were all together.
But with the love within our hearts,
You will be with us forever.
--Loved dearly, missed always, your niece and nephew, Tammy and Cory.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 23, 2002
HOWARD--In loving memory of my wonderful sister, Marlene, who left us January 24, 2001.
I dream of you dear sister,
And see your smiling face.
And know that you are happy,
In our Father's chosen place.
I mourned for you in silence,
No eyes can see me weep.
But many a silent tear is shed,
While others are asleep.
None on earth could take your place.
You are still the dearest sister of all.
Marlene, you will remain in my heart forever.
--Your sister Janet.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 23, 2002
HOWARD--In loving memory of a very special Mom and Grandma, Marlene, who left us suddenly on January 24, 2001.
As time goes on, it seems the pain will never heal.
We think of you everyday, your face, smile, your loving ways.
What we wouldn't give to hear your voice again.
We know you are watching over us in the garden above.
When God called you home, He knew He took the best.
We will always love you and wish you were here.
We know no greater treasures, than the ones we shared with you.
We love and miss you always.

HOWARD--In loving memory of a wonderful niece, a beautiful friend, and Bingo Buddy, Marlene, who left so suddenly January 24, 2001.
It's lonely here without you
I miss you more each day
For life is not the same to me
Since God called you away.
There's a place in my heart
A corner just for you
No one can replace it
Nor can time erase it
I'll keep it just for you alone.
Loving you was easy
Losing you was so hard
And you left so suddenly
I didn't get to say good bye
So save a place for me
To be with you again
But I'll hold you in my heart
Until we do meet again.
--Loved always, missed greatly, Love ya, Aunt Shirley.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 23, 2002

Of the one we lost four years ago.
How we dream and wish to see you smile,
Hear your laugh.
All memories we hold so dear in our hearts,
Today, tomorrow and forever.
We often speak your name
And look at your picture in the frame.
All the silent tears we shed.
Wishing you were still here.
Forever loved and always missed by Wanda, Larry, Caitlyn and Tyler.

In our lonely hours of thinking
Memories of you are always there.

We know you are watching
And guiding us through life.

HOWELL-In loving memory of Austin, who passed away on December 12, 1999.
This month comes back with deep regret
It brings back a day we will never forget
He went away without saying good-bye
But our memories of him will never die
No one knows the grief we bear
When the family meets and he's not there
The tears we shed will wipe away.
But the ache in our hearts will always stay
He left us so suddenly his thoughts unknown
But he left us with memories
We are proud to own.
--love Dad and Sheelah.

HUBBERT--In loving memory of a dear brother George who left us suddenly to enter into God’s Heavenly home on August 18.
Beside your grave we will often stand
With hearts both crushed and sore
But in the gloom the sweet words come.
“Not lost but gone before”
God knows how much we miss you
He counts the tears we shed
And whispers, “He only sleeps”
“Your loved one is not dead.”
So, we’ll be brace dear George
And pray to God each day
And when he calls us home to you
Your smile will guide the way
Our hearts are full of sorrow
And tears have dimmed our eyes
But we shall meet him one again,
In the home beyond the skies
There is an open gate
At the end of the road
Through which each must go alone
And there is a light we cannot see
Our Father claims His own
Beyond the gate our loved one
Finds happiness and rest
And there is comfort
In the thought
That a loving God knows best.
Sadly missed and never forgotten by sister Mina.
