PHEASANT-EKWUEME--In memory of Justin Humphrey Pheasant-Ekwueme. June 14, 2000 - November 5, 2000.
Such a short time we had with you,
To let you go was so hard to do.
You brought us such joy,
Our sweet, precious little angel boy.
You will always be within our hearts.
And it's only time keeping us apart.
The only solace we have is to pray,
That we shall see you again someday.
It is then that we will again embrace
And see that beautiful smile on your face.
You will always be remembered, loved and missed. Mommy Tricia, brother Joshua, Nana Linda, Aunties Krystal, Judy and Nicole and cousins Paula and Kris.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 15, 2006

PHILLIPS, Shirley—in loving memory of a dear wife and mother who passed away September 25, 1979.

With tender love and deep regret,
We who love you will never forget.

PHILLIPS—In loving memory of our dear daughter and sister, Shirley Phillips, who passed away September 25, 1979
. They say time heals all sorrow,
And helps us to forget,
But time has only proved to us,
How much we miss her yet
We cannot have the old days back
When we were all together,
But secret tears and loving thoughts
Will be with us forever
Her memory is our keepsake,
With which we’ll never part,
God has her in his keeping,
We have her in our heart.
--Mom, sisters, brother, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law

PICKARD--In loving memory of Dan Pickard, July 8, 1963 to February 10, 2008.
This is for you, because we want you to know,
How special you are, and how we love you so.
This is for you, for everything you have done,
For always making sure we had it all, even if you had none.
For giving us courage and teaching us how to fight;
For what we believe in, and what we think is right.
This is for you, for helping us to understand,
The meaning of generosity, and how important it is to lend a hand.
To be there for each other, through thick and thin,
And that by sticking together, there is nothing we can't win.
It is because of all of this and more, we will always think of you,
With all that we accomplish, and with everything we do.
Because you have given us the world,
And no one could ever forget someone as great as you.
We love and miss you terribly, Carol, Michelle, Erin, Mandy, and Matt.

PITAWANAKWAT--In memory of a dear nephew and cousin, Cory, who passed away, May 13, 1995.
Sometimes I Cry
Sometimes when I'm alone
I cry because I'm on my own,
The tears I cry are bitter and warm
They flow with life but take no form,
I cry because my heart is torn
and I find it difficult to carry on,
If I had an ear to confide in
I would cry among my treasured friends,
But who do you know that stops that long
to help another carry on,
The world moves fast and it would rather pass you by
than to stop and see what makes you cry,
It's painful and sad and sometimes I cry
and no one cares about why.
Manitoulin Expositor, May 9, 2001

PITAWANAKWAT-In dear loving memory of Grace, who passed away on October 31, 1971.
Two sad and lonely years have passed,
Since our great sorrow fell,
The shock we received that night
No one can ever tell.
Life is not the same for us,
Since you were called away.
You bade no one your last farewell,
Nor even said good-bye.
Perhaps its just as well
We never could have said good-bye,
To the one we knew so well.
To us you have not gone far away,
Just entered God’s eternal home.
Lovingly remembered and always will, by Alphonse Pangowaish family, Wikwemikong.

PITAWANAKWAT-In loving memory of our dear Aunt Grace who passed away on October 31, 1971.
Two years have passed with sad regret,
It brings back memories we will never forget.
You passed away without good-bye.
Those left behind are very good
But you’re replaced by none.
What would we give to clasp your hand,
Your happy face to see,
To hear your voice, and see your smile,
That meant so much to us.
Our memory of you will never die.
Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Robert Eshkibok and family of Kaboni, Ont.

PITAWANAKWAT--In loving memory of our dear brother Harold, who passed away March 12, 1999.
We often think of days gone by,
When we were all together,
A shadow o’er our lives has cast,
Our loved one’s gone forever.
‘Tis well he will suffer no more
In the loved land of the blest,
Pain fled as he trod heaven’s shore;
It left him at peace and rest.
His smiling way and pleasant face
Are a pleasure to recall;
He had a kindly word for each
And died beloved by all.
Some day we hope to meet him,
Some day, we know not when,
To clasp his hand in the better land,
Never to part again.
--Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by sisters Marge, Laura, Carol, Barbara and Judy and brothers Rick and Gerald.
Manitoulin Expositor, March 15, 2000

PITAWANAKWAT, INEZ--July 9, 2006
Mom, there are times in our life
We feel we need you,
And we know you're there
All we have to do, is offer our tobacco
To the Gchi-Manitou upstairs
We hear our cries, he sees our sorrows
He feels our grief, he rejoices in our triumphs
He has taken you home, for relief
You don't have to worry,
Just knowing our Mom, is safe in the Creator's arms
Eases the pain of your absence from our lives
Don't feel or look back with any regrets
As you raised your family, with all that you had
And it was your best.
The Creator put us as a family
He gave you the gift of eternal life
Your memory will never be gone
As you shine through all of us
Our grief cannot be compared
To what it was one year ago
Healing has taken place as those memories of our
Last phone call,
Last heart to heart,
Last disagreement,
Last hug,
Last time we saw you,
Last "I love you"
It doesn't cause tears of sadness, but causes tears of joy
As we're learning not to be sad, but to celebrate your life
And to honour you for your contributions
To this world, that may have affected one person or many people.
Miigwetch to you Mom and the Creator for all the beautiful life teachings
That have touched our lives.
Baamaapii! Mama!
Love your family Joe, Marti, Winnie, Vanessa, Marcus and CJ

PRESLEY--In loving memory of a dear wife and mother, Frances, who passed away on May 4, 2004.
When evening shades are falling
And we sit in quiet alone,
To our hearts there comes a longing
If she only could come home.
Friends may think we have forgotten
When at times they see us smiles,
But they little know the heartache
Our smiles hide all the while.
--Sadly remembered by husband Jim and daughter Terri.

PRESLEY--In loving memory of a dear friend and cousin Fran, who passed away May 4, 2004.
I watched you suffer,
Heard you sigh
And all I could do
Was stand by.
But when the time came,
I suffered too.
You never deserved
What you went through.
God took your hand
We had to part.
He eased your pain
But broke my heart.
Although I smile,
And seem carefree
No one misses you
More than me.
Gone but not forgotten, Lynn Spry.

Manitoulin Expositor, October 17, 2001

(No surname give, I believe it is PYETTE)
In memory of our angel "Amy Lynn."
The face of an angel is all that is here,
One beautiful freckle equals one terrified tear.
Not ready to leave but has to go,
Want to go back, but God says no.
Leaving your life is a scary thought,
I guess it's something that can't be fought.
A mother, a father, a sister and friends,
A meaningful life that suddenly ends.
An angel is what she was meant to be,
Now just think of all she can see.
Looking over her family night and day,
Saying "I love you" in her own special way.
In the night we sleep, in the day we cry,
She watches us all from her star in the sky.
--You're in our heart and thoughts always.
Love, Mom, Dad, Katie and Billy
Manitoulin Expositor, October 31, 2001

PYETTE, AMY LYNN--In loving memory of Amy Lynn Pyette who passed away October 23, 2000.

PYETTE--In loving memory of Amy Lynn, September 12, 1988 - October 23, 2000.
There is a bridge of memories
From here to Heaven above
That keeps you very close to us
It's called a bridge of love
As time goes on without you
and days turn into years,
They hold a million memories
And a thousand silent tears.
To us you were very special
What more is there to say,
Except to wish with all our hearts,
That you were here today.
Missed by Mom, Dad, Katie and Billy.
Manitoulin Expositor, October 19, 2005

PYETTE--In memory of our angel, Amy Lynn Pyette. Sept. 12, 1988 - Oct. 23, 2000.
Please God, forgive a silent tear.
A fervent wish our Amy was here.
There are others, yes we know,
But she was ours, we loved her so.
Dear God, take a message
To our Amy in heaven above,
Tell her how much we miss her
And give her all our love.
Love, Mom, Dad, Katie and Billy.
Manitoulin Expositor, October 18, 2006

PYETTE--In loving memory of Amy Lynn Pyette, September 12, 1988 - October 23, 2000.
If roses grow in Heaven, Lord
Please pick a bunch for us;
Place them in Amy's arms,
And tell her they're from us.
Tell her how we love and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
We do it every day;
But there is an ache within our hearts
That will never go away.
Forever loved and always missed, Dad, Mom, Katie and Billy.
Manitoulin Expositor, October 24, 2007

PYETTE--In memory of Amy Lynn Pyette,
September 12, 1988 - October 23, 2000.
A million times we've need you,
A million times we've cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
If all the world was ours to give,
We would give it yes, and more,
To see you coming up the steps,
And walking through the door.
To hear your voice and see your smile,
To sit and talk a while,
To be with you that same old way,
Would be our fondest day.
A heart of gold stopped beating,
Two smiling eyes closed to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
In our hearts and minds always,
Mom and Dad, Bill, Katie and Chris

PYETTE--In loving memory of Loretta Pyette who passed away September 10, 2004.
Our life goes on without you
But nothing is the same
We have to hide our heartaches
When someone mentions your name
You did so many things for us
Your heart was kind and true
And when we needed someone
We could always count on you
Sad are the hearts that love you
Silent are the tears that fall
Living our lives without you
Is the hardest part of all.
The special times will not return
When we were all together
But with the love within our hearts
You will walk with us forever.
