The friends of Chester, Kevin and Gerta SMELTZER would like to express their sympathy in the loss of your wife, mother, and daughter-in-law, Eileen and acknowledge your support, caring and love for her.
The many ways you helped her with errands, providing meals, and just being there for her, in many times of need…a loving husband and son whose endless devotion helped Eileen in so many ways.
We know that you will miss her terribly, but should know that you have made her difficult final years that much richer for having you all in her life.
Thinking of you with Love and Respect,
Your many friends.
Manitoulin Expositor, July 19, 2000
IN MEMORY--In memory of Seward Hall, August 1, 2000, Dwight McGauley, July
11, 2000, Eileen SMELTZER, July, Nancy Miller, May 3, 2000.
The sun sets, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land
The tide recedes, but leaves behind the seashells and the sand,
The music stops but choes on still in sweet refrains
For every joy that passes
Something beautiful remains
Pat Hall

SMITH--In memory of Jason Keith Alexander Smith, March 28, 1976 - November 7, 2003.
My Son
As you walked with me, within me
My gift, for my lifetime presented your birth
As you walked behind me,
My gift for your lifetime, challenged me to teach
As you walked with your father
Your gift for his lifetime; his son
As you walked beside me
Our gift, for a lifetime, showed us to love
As you walked on your own
The gifts you gave, were for a lifetime
As you walked with your siblings, your family
Gifts you shared, were those of a lifetime
As you walked with your friends
Gifts of loyalty and laughter meant for their lifetime
As you walked into the spirit world
The gift of grief and broken hearts
That'll last more than many lifetimes
My son, as you walk with the spirits
The gifts you have given, will help us through our lifetime.
We are forever thankful for all of your gifts.
Mom, Dad, Boshk and Donis.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 9, 2005
SMITH--Jason Keith Alexander Smith, March 23, 1976 - November 7, 2003.
My son,
The ache churns so deep,
As I remember...Standing aside your coffin,
Seeing just who you had become
Pride swallows my heart.
Standing aside your crib,
Watching; wondering who you'd be.
Love brings me to tears.
Everything and in between,
In a life much too short
Your hugs - a true treasure
Your smile - oh, so contagious
Your strength - would make me weep
Your heart - a rare purity
A man so kind - you are my pride.
And now, My honour is that you
Are forever
My son.
Mom, Boshk, Dawniss and family.
Manitoulin Expositor, November 7, 2007

SMITH--In loving memory of a dear father, Dad, John Ross, who passed away January 21, 1996.
A page in the book of memory,
Silently turns today,
At times it's almost like yesterday,
At other times an eternity.
Gone are the days we used to share,
But in our hearts you are always there
May the wind of love blow gently,
And whisper so you can hear.
We will always love you and miss you,
And wish that you were here.
But we know you walk beside us.
And when our lives are through.
We pray that God will take our hands
And lead us straight to you.
With all our love Dad, sleep in peace.

SMTIH--In loving memory of a dear husband, John R., who passed away January 21, 1996.
We thought of you with love today,
We thought about you yesterday,
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
It hurts to say your name.
All we have left are memories,
And your picture in a frame.
When we are sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong.
If we could only hear your voice again,
Then we would know to carry on.
Our memory is our keepsake,
With which we will never part
We cannot have you here with us
But we keep you in our heart.
--Lovingly remembered by loving wife, Wilhelmina.

SMITH, N. PETER--In memory of N. Peter Smith who went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2003.
I go not to the grave to weep
But to my heart, wherein I keep
A hidden manna that hath fed
Alike the living and the dead.
We gathered it as, day by day,
It fell from heaven upon our way,
To be, if haply one were gone,
The bread for both to feed upon.

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it, and our only thought is why.
You left us a garden of beautiful memories, watered by a million tears,

SMITH--To our dearest Pappa Four Wheeler, Warren Smith.
We little knew that morning
That God would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly;
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

EADIE--In fond and loving memory of our dear Mother Nina Eadie, December 15, 1986 and dear sister Wilhelmina SMITH, December 18, 2005, who left their earthly home that cold December to be with our Lord and Saviour.
Softly the leaves of memory fall
Slowly we gather and treasure them all
Unseen, unheard, they are always near
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
On the door of a chapel a wreath sadly hung
And the hearse stood there waiting while the choir softly sung.
There were flowers in their beauty and the Parson who prayed
And this was the last message as they left for her grave.
She won't need you tonight, Son, for she's not alone.
She's up there with the angels around God's great throne.
Those flowers in their beauty her bosom caress,
She has reared you to manhood, now you can lay her to rest.
But don't wait till it's too late to try and repay,
Give those flowers, give those treasures, give them today.
Let her know that you love her,
Let her know that you care.
For she's your Mother, God loves her, she's as true as a prayer.
So kiss her old brow, whisper softly and true,
Mother, you're just an angel, and I love you.
Lovingly missed and remembered by your daughters and sisters, Doreen Taylor,
Evelyn Bailey and Son and brother Robert Eadie.
Manitoulin Expositor, December 13, 2006

SMITH, WILHELMINA--In loving memory of Wilhelmina J Smith (Eadie) April 15, 1936 - December 18, 2005.
Mom,
Till the stars have lost their sparkle
And the sun no longer shines
Till the flowers fail to bloom
You will always be on our mind
Till lighting no longer strikes,
And rain stops falling
Till the rainbow have no ending
Your name we will be still calling
Till time stops ticking
And skies are empty of blue
Till our heart stops beating
We will always love you.
Forever loved, Marilyn, Doug, Billy, Connie & Keith

SMITH, WILHELMINA--In loving memory of Wilhelmina Smith April 15, 1936 to December 18, 2005
Grandma,
As time goes by without you
And the days turn into years

Manitoulin Expositor, January 2, 2008
SMITH--In loving memory of Wilhelmina Smith (Eadie), April 15 1936 - December 18, 2005.
If Roses Grow In Heaven
If roses grow in heaven
Lord please pick a bunch for us
Please place them in mom's hands
And tell her they are from us.
Tell her that we love her, and miss her very much
And when she turns to smile
Please place a kiss upon her cheek,
And hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy
We do it everyday
But there's an ache within our heart
Because we're missing her today.
Mom you are forever in our hearts, never to be forgotten.
Manitoulin Expositor, December 17, 2008
SMITH--In loving memory of a dear husband, father and grandfather, William (Bill), who passed away December 13, 2007.
Dad,
A million times we needed you,
A million times we cried,
If love alone would have saved you,
You would of never died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still,
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one can ever fill.
A light from our household is gone,
A voice from our love is stilled,
A place in our vacant home,
Which never can be filled.
Some may think you are forgotten,
Though on earth you are no more,
But in our memory you are with us,
As you always were before.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
A part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
Your precious memories are for keepsakes,
With which we never part,
God has you safely in his keeping,
But we have you forever in our hearts.
Always loved and sadly missed by Mary, Joe, Jeannie, Donna, Dan, Darin, Ken and families.
