Barden -- Horace McKendry BARDEN b. 1833, Upper Canada His parents Seth J. BARDEN & Rachel COLEMAN (dau. of John COLEMAN & Rachel BARDEN) had 8 children in New York between 1820 - 1832. Their last 3 children were born in OHIO between 1836 - 1840. QUESTION: Their 9th child (HORACE) was born in Canada in 1833. WHERE?? Any explanation of a possible route of migration that caused one son to be born in Canada presumedly towards their final destination of central west BARRON County, WISCONSIN. This was a VERY BRIEF excursion into CANADA. Diadema born in New York in 1832. Horace in Canada in 1833, and return to OHIO in 1836 when Irene was born. The in Canada was so brief ... certainly they were not noted in any census. Birth records were virtually non-existant --- only hope would be church/baptismal records. I can only guess they were Baptist/Methodist Espiscopal --- (or ?United Brethren?). Horace's son was a United Brethren Reverend ... but he was married by a Methodist Episcopal Minister in Wisconsin. From New York geography to Upper Canada seems like a 'step' forward ... and then two 'giant steps' backwards into the OHIO geography ... and then many giant steps forward to end up in Wisconsin. I don't understand 'this progress' .... and feel any luck in finding a birth record on HORACE might be next to impossible. Thanks for your attention.
