Mary McNames born  March 28,1821 which would of made her 50 in 1871. Her parents Raymond Hoyt and Elizabeth Gent  went from Mohawk Valley New York to New Brunswick because of the Indian uprising.  Mary (Hoyt ) McNames d. March 17, 1905 in Muir Mich.  

Her daughter Eleanor Lucretia (see file 1 page 1) m. John Steele in Canada date unknown.

I only know 3  of the children  Alfred, Sadie, and Ella not sure how many more there were.

Sadie is my g_grandmother. Eleanor died in Northern Mi when Ella (aunt Pearl) was six weeks old so the grandma (Mary Hoyt) raised them.

I cant find anything on John Steele. I have been told his last name was Ireland and he changed it to Steele, have no idea why or when but when he married Eleanor it was Steele.  

Sadie b.April 26, 1880  d. 1926 in Flint, Mi. m Wm. Feeley date unknown.Divorced. had son Harry Ward Feeley(my grandfather) married 2nd. General Weekley in 1904.

I thought that Roxanne Nelson was born in  Washington Twp in Sanilac but from what you told me they lived in Worth.  She was born the following year in 1861, unless they moved between 1860 and 1861. My ggrandfather John H. Nelson enlisted for the civil war at Sanilac. When he was writing home to Elizabeth, she had died and he didn't know it.  I have the letters.  Mary Jane the oldest daughter was taking care of the kids and in the end she also died before he got home.  Pretty sad.
