Work in progress and comments

Older reports by the Ottawa Br. of Ont. Geneal. Society may still available even though they are not listed in their current publications list . Some of the earliest Ottawa Branch reports are available on microfilm through the National Archives of Canada (NAC).

There has been several regretable cases where two or more cemetery transcripts have published for the same cemetery. The intent of this list is to avoid a re-occurrence of any further such situations.

Robbie Gorr is presently updating Petawawa Tp., The All Saint's Anglican (old) and (new), and St. Mathew's Cemetery, (telephone convers., Oct. 29, 2000, S. Gray and R. Gorr).

Lynn Friedman is preparing a detailed report on Admaston Protestant Cemetery and Rosebank Cemetery both in Admaston Tp. and Haley Station Union Cemetery, Haley's Station, Ross Tp. These cemeteries are affiliated with the Admaston Pastoral Charge of the United Church of Canada. Her report will include a history of the cemetery, location, plot map, plot numbers, photographs of the entrance, buildings, commemorative plaques and each headstone. She would also like to include the newspaper obituary and when possible a photograph of the individual. Lynn would like to hear from people with family or friends buried there. Lynn is requesting photographs, copies of funeral cards. Please do not send items that you wish returned. Lynn will pay for the cost of the photocopies and postage. This is a long-term project expected to take at least five years. For further information contact Mrs. J. H. Friedman, 5121 Palomar Cres., Mississauga ON L5R 2X5 lmfriedman@roger.com. ["A Member's Project!" Timberline, Dec. 2002, vol. 13(6), p 53; and e-mail, Mar. 13 and 14, 2004 from L. Friedman to S. Gray]

The above list of cemeteries is not complete. Authors and publishers are not known in many cases. Crowder (1990) reports four cemeteries not seen in other lists. Assistance in completing this table would be appreciated. If you are aware of any publications not listed above (published or in progress) or any corrections to this list, please contact the web master for this site.

The UOVGG encourages individuals to help them complete all the cemeteries of the area, and to publish these through the UOVGG.

If you are aware of any publications not listed above (published or in progress) or any corrections to this list, please contact the webmaster for this site.
