Harold Charles Knox LEET, born about 1852, and his wife Margaretta Elizabeth, born about 1864, are both thought to have died in Canada. Their REAL name was LEET, but they may have choosen to become KNOX-LEET. This is the same family as the Maj General William KNOX LEET, VC. William's father was a clergyman who became attracted to Miss Sarah KNOX of Moyne Abbey. The deal was that Sarah's father would buy Edward LEET (who later called himself Edward St. Patrick Leet) a living if he would refix the surname of all issue with KNOX. He did this and it seems to have carried on.
