I'm researching the family of James Robertson and Margaret
Hudson who settled on the west side of the Owen Sound Road (3/32) in
Arthur Township about 1853. I have information on
several of their descendants, particularly their granddaughter
Jane Robertson, my grandmother. Looking for more information
about the family of their daughter-in-law Margaret Eliza Keys (1854-1935)
married to their son John in 1877, in Arthur. Margaret Keys' parents
were Robert Keys and Sarah Jane Hewitt both born in Ireland in 1831 and
1833 respectively, leased
land on Concession 4, Lot 1, Amaranth Township, at least until 1881
census, and then seemed to disappear from Wellington Co.
Any help would be appreciated!

016 Clayton
I am looking for information about John Clayton and his wife Annie
Piper, who arrived in Canada from England (family gossip says
Yorkshire)in 1845. Their son, George Alexander Clayton is my great
grandfather. I know that George was a farmer in the Marden area, just
north of Guelph and later moved to a home just across the street from
Woodlawn cemetery where he operated an abatoir and became a partner with
his son-in-law in a butcher shop.
I am looking for any information that would further my research.
Any information about John and Annie Clayton, children, place of birth,
burial etc.
I am only guessing that they settled in Wellington County. I have
researched OCFA and cannot find any listing where John and Annie Clayton
are buried together.

Our ggrandfather was Eugene Lynch. Listed in the 1881 census, he
was married to Eliza and they had seven children. I know two of the boys
Tom and Simon went to the United States around 1894, but the rest
apparently stayed in the area. Eugene owned land in Peel, Con 1, as did
his father Eugene.
My first find of Eugene was 1871 when he received land from the Crown,
but the oldest child, James was born in 1860 in Ontario, which means he
was in Ontario at least 11 years before he bought land. I don't know
the maiden name of his wife Eliza, but I feel they were married in
Ontario around 1859/60. They were both born in Ireland. Simon Lynch
marrie Anna Owens, and Edward Owens married Mary O'Reilly. I am not
sure about the Doyles, but I feel there is a relationship.
I would appreciate any information that might be available. I do not
know if Eugene left the area, but I do not think he did. I feel he died
there but there is nothing in the cemetery. All of the people mentioned
were Catholic.
Thanks,
Jerome C. McNichol

059 Barber, Madden
My Great Grandfather James Barber(b-1825), my Grandfather Reid
Barber(b-1851)lived in Wellington County somewhere. Reid Barber moved
from Wellington County to Owen Sound before 1890 where his first son
Lyall was born in Feb 1890. My birth father Orval Clarence Barber was
born in Owen Sound on Mar 19 1998. I know nothing of the family of James
other than his son Reid and I know nothing of the parents of James. I
believe James may have come from the Attwater Ont area. My Madden family
may haave come from Ontario before moving to Rapid City Manitoba where my
Stepfather Charles Albert Madden was born on Feb 5 1905. His father was
George Albert Madden-born 1876 in ??. His mother was Clara James-born
1877 in ???. The Madden Family moved to Vancouver BC sometime before
1925
