Through his past and current role with Newmarket Heritage, Wes has taken an active role in identifying and researching historical facts about Newmarket and is the author of Foundations: Heritage Landmarks of Downtown Newmarket – a coffee-table book featuring 18 historical landmarks of Downtown Newmarket with proceeds to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Wes has also helped homeowners research their properties and has published many papers about the history of local families who, generations later, still live in the town. Copies of his book will be available for sale.
How do privacy laws affect funeral homes? What records might they have? How best to approach them? As the third generation in the family business, Wes will provide insight into how we might further our research with funeral home records. |
