A pink rose was brought around Cape Horn and planted at the Lee Mission. Cuttings were given to visitors. Many of the Oregon bushes of this famous rose originated from cuttings of the one at the Jason Lee Mission. Some may still be found at the Willamette Mission State Park, north of Keizer, Oregon. Each May, in tribute to the chapter namesake, members gather at her grave in the Lee Mission Cemetery in Salem, bringing flowers from their gardens to place on her grave. A brief ceremony commemorating Anna Maria Pittman is conducted by the chapter Chaplain. This has been an annual tradition since the chapter's chartering.
