

High School Seniors Offered Chance to Compete in
DAR Good Citizens and Scholarship Contest
Senior class high school students in the Beaverton, Aloha, Tualatin, and theTigard areas who are enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools which are in good standing with the State Board of Education are encouraged to participate.
The student's school is asked to select their Good Citizen, who must have the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
Each school's Good Citizen is eligible and has the option to enter the scholarship portion of the contest, judged on personal goals, accomplishments and a written essay.
Beaver Chapter has mailed application forms and detailed information to the area high schools.

AMERICAN HISTORY ESSAY CONTEST

CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS ESSAY CONTEST
All students in grades 9,10,11 and 12 are eligible to participate in this annual essay contest sponsored by the DAR and the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF).

JUNIOR AMERICAN CITIZENS COMMITTEE
ART CONTEST
This JAC Contest is for students in grades pre-school through 12th grade in public, private, and parochial schools and in sanctioned home study programs, including those students who may be physically or mentally challenged or in Gifted/Talented programs.
Youth groups may also participate.
