The Reeves/Edwards cemetery is situated on the former Thomas Reeves Donation Land Claim. Thomas Reeves came to Benton County in 1845 and is considered Benton County's first Euro-American settler. The earliest death date recorded on a gravestone is that of Laura Foster, infant daughter of John and Mary Lloyd Foster. The date of 1849 indicates that this is one of Benton County's oldest cemeteries. The graves of some of the earliest settlers of this region are located here, including the Foster, Currier, Lloyd and Reeves families. There are 16 marked stones with at least 4 or 5 unmarked burials. The cemetery is also referred to as the Edwards Cemetery although none of the Edwards family are buried here. The name probably comes from the fact that James Edwards owned the property surrounding the cemetery for many years, beginning in 1862. The James Edwards house and barn are located below the cemetery, to the south. The last burial in this cemetery was that of Thomas Reeves in 1886. The Reeves-Edwards Cemetery was never surveyed nor platted.
