Wren Cemetery

T.11 S   R.6 W   S.28
Enumerated on 8 July 1988 & 5 July 1989
The Wren cemetery is located on a hillside, off the left-hand side of Highway #223, near the town of Wren.

The land was deeded in 1859 to be used by the United Brethren Church. The cemetery shared the 5-acre lot with the community church. Donor of the land was George WREN, who gave his name to the railroad station and to the post office, and is said to be buried here in an unmarked grave.

The oldest stone in the Wren Cemetery marks the grave of Andrew J. WOOD, son of B & P. WOOD, who died in 1857, aged 1 month and 9 days.

Two members of the KING family of Kings Valley, Charles KING (1848-1915) and his wife Margaret (1860-1927), are buried here. Charles was the son of Nahum KING. Other pioneers buried in this cemetery are W.F. HERNDON (1825-1901) and his wife Francinous (1826-1867), and James McP . O'BRIEN (1829-1873)
