PAPER FOUND IN THE KISOR BIBLE
Written in Sarah Ann KISOR's handwriting, unsigned, but vouched for
by the daughter, Mrs. C. G. COPELAND, as it was found shortly after the
mother's death.
"Amos FREEL and Elizabeth REYNOLDS were married somewhere in Indiana near Lafayette, I think in Tippecanoe County, and lived in Indiana until they had six children, five (girls), one boy; then they moved to Iowa, lived there a number of years, seven years in Muscatine Co., then moved to Warren Co., near Des Moines; lived there until the spring of 'fifty-two, then started for Oregon with his whole family of twelve children and three sons-in-law.
The three oldest daughters were married. The first one, Sarah Ann, married Geo. W. KISOR of Ohio. Sophia, the 2nd daughter, married Jonathan PARKINSON from Penn., the 3rd one married John CASNER from Missouri. We had to lay by two weeks near Canesville before we could get across the river. At last they brought a steamboat there to help the people across. Then after we had traveled a day or so Jonathan PARKINSON changed his mind and wouldn't go any further - took his wife and two children and went back to Cainsville. This was in April. We got along all right until the 5th of June. Little Francis Marion took the cholera and died; then the father and mother and two daughters and three sons died in 11 days. One of the daughters was Mary CASNER, wife of John CASNER. She left two little boys and husband. The other daughter was Mariah FREEL, and the boys' names were Francis Marion, Marquis Lafayette and the babe was Charles Wesley.
They all died in eleven days. Then there were four daughters and one son left. The oldest daughter, Sarah A., wife of George KISOR and Nancy Jane FREEL and sixteen year-old Elizabeth Lucy and Martha Ellen and Ursula and William Jasper, fourteen years old that - - - - - See FREEL Bible Record
