Oregon State Society Children of the American Revolution is a patriotic organization whose mission is to train good citizens, develop leaders and promote love of the United States of America and its heritage among young people.     If you would like to learn more about C.A.R.'s objectives and mission visit our National Society's Webpage.     The National Website has a new video that highlights regional conferences and other C.A.R. activities. National also has a virtual tour of the Children's Room. Visit these sites to learn more about C.A.R.!     The Oregon State Society C.A.R. recently elected a new president, Jennifer Devin. She will continue the state project from last year by working with Oregon Lewis and Clark Chapter, SAR, to raise funds for their American Revolution War Memorial in Beaverton, Oregon.     As a state society we sponsor several activities through the year. Our first will be our leadership workshop/ campout. We then have a program packet meeting in conjuction with the state SAR/DAR/C.A.R. picnic. In November we enter a float into the Albany Veteran's Day parade. The Albany parade is billed the largest veteran's day parade on the west coast. We have received an award in the youth division float catagory for the last 4 years. The highlight of the year is our state conference in March. This year we celebrated our 77th state conference. Our Honorary State President was able to raise $1600 towards a bench at the SAR War Memorial.     Our 75th Anniversary geogem-geocaching travelor has been found! It briefly went missing, but is still in the hands of a geocacher in Colorado, who hopefully will move it along its journey soon! You can track this geogem at geocaching.com by entering TB3CQKN.     Our next activity will be the state board meeting/campout. We hope to see you there. | | National Motto “For God and Country” National Theme “Saratoga-The Turning Point”
