Gideon Millard was born in Stephenstown, Rensselaer County, New York on July 26, 1800.(1) He married Elisabeth (Bozorth) Lance in Clackamas County on July 4, 1849, and they settled this Donation Land Claim of 637 acres on August 1, 1849.(2),(3) He died January 21, 1869 at Vancouver, Clark County, Washington.(1)
Elizabeth A. Bozorth was the daughter of Squire and Mildred (Heard) Bozorth. She was married three times before marrying Gideon Millard. Her first husband was William Legg, who she married January 1, 1834. He died July 24, 1835. She married next to David Dort, who died in Iowa March 10, 1840. Her third husband was John Lance, who she married February 19, 1843 and he died February 15, 1846.(2)
By her first husband, William Legg, she had one child who was living in the family at the 1850 census:(4)
