Jackson Powell

Sec. 2/3-- Map 12B

Jackson Powell was a brother of John, David, James, and William Powell. In 1850, he and his brother John were living with William & Elizabeth Hicks. Jackson was a bricklayer.(5)  He died in 1890, leaving a family.(1) At the 1870 census the following children were in his household:(6)

Eddy A./Ada (F) Powell, born about 1854. On December 31, 1881 she married W. A. MacKenzie. Her sister acted as witness.(2)

Charles Powell, born about 1856.

Olive I. Powell, born about 1858. She was married to John Hicklin Hall on October 18, 1877 at her father's home.(3) Olive died November 7, 1893.

John H. Hall was born July 17, 1855 thirteen miles east of Portland. He was the son of Benjamin F. and Emily (Hicklin) Hall. He was orphaned at the age of 10, and went to live with first his brother-in-law, and then an uncle. He was a successful lawyer and businessman of Portland.(4)
