Sherwood M. Davis

Sherwood M. Davis was born in Pennsylvania and his wife, Anna I., was born in Indiana.

They both migrated to Kansas when small children. They grew up in the same neighborhood and were married in Reno County, Kansas in 1900, and came to Troutdale, Oregon from Kansas in November 1902.

They purchased 58 acres of the Huurlburt place two miles south of Corbett, and lived on the farm the balance of their lives. Mr. And Mrs. Davis had nine children. Delbert Fay and Fernie I. Were born in Kansas. Mary M., Ruth M., Albert M., John E., Estella L., James S., and Norah M. were born in Multnomah County, Oregon.

Mr. Davis was one of the founders of the original Columbia Telephone Company and was its Secretary for many years. Mr. Davis died in 1945 and his wife three years later.
