Frank Loyal Knapp

Frank Loyal Knapp was born in Elkhart, Ind. May 4, 1859. His parents moved west to Sunnyside, Washington. He married Elsie Almira Austin who was born in Molalla, Oregon, Dec. 16, 1880. Their older children were born in Molalla, then the family settled on a homestead in the Brower area about 1890. They later moved to Washington where the youngest son, Rex, was born, but moved back to the Brower homestead in 1910.

They then bought the Neely place at the top of Louden Hill where they were living when Mrs. Knapp passed away in 1939. Mr. Knapp later went to live with a daughter in Tulare, California, and died there in 1944.

Their children were: Irene Elsie, born Dec. 7, 1888 in Olalla, died in Salem, Oregon, 1965. She was married to Charles Creasy. Cora Almira, born in Molalla, Dec. 1, 1881, died Oct. 30, 1964 in California. Married William H. Absher. Lura, born in Molalla Oct. 8, 1883. She married James O’Neil. William Herbert, born in Molalla May 23, 1885. Married Marie W. Ihrke. Rex Loyal, born in Washington in 1895. Rex never married and still lives on the family farm at top of Louden Hill.
