Oregon Light

"Let Your Light so Shine"

Matthew 5:16

The Daughters of the American Revolution are all about patriotism, education and historic preservation. We are also about friendship and community service.

DAR membership in Oregon hovers at around 1,600 women; all descendants of a man or woman who aided in the independence of, or the creation of, our government between April 19, 1775 and November 26, 1783. While we are a lineage organization we are also a service organization, providing assistance and opportunities for education to children; we honor the men and women who give to our communities and who have given to our country; we support our active military personnel and their families; we assist the illiterate with tutoring and aid those who are trying to become American citizens. This is a small sample of how all of the Oregon Daughters contribute to the objectives of our national society.

Please come inside to learn more about the Oregon State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. You will find that we own four state museums, open to the public and maintained to further our mission of patriotism, education and preservation. Inside you will find us easy to contact with email links to all the state officers and all of the chapters. If you are interested in membership, please contact our State Membership Chairman, Carol Ward Wilson.

As Oregon State Regent and on behalf of the Oregon State Society Daughters of the American Revolution, welcome to our state web page. I hope you will consider joining DAR. Come meet and get to know the caring and devoted women who carry on the valuable work of our long enduring society. There is something for everyone in DAR; come find your niche.

Fondly, Lillian Eaton Stewart
